Raja langsung  pergi meninggalkan pengemis sendirian.
The Miserly Beggar
The king was to pass by a beggar’s hut and the man was beside himself with excitement, not because he was about to see the king but because the king was known to part with esxpensive jewels and huge sums of money when moved by compassion.
He saw the king’s chariot  just as a kindly man was filling his begging bowl with uncooked rice. Pushing the man aside, he ran into the street, shouting praises of the king and the royal family.
The chariot stopped and king beckoned to the beggar.
“Who are you?” he asked.
“One of the most unfortunate of your subjects,” said the beggar. “Poverty sits on my doorstep and follows me about like a dog. I haven’t eaten since yesterday afternoon!”
“Have you got nothing for your king, except a tale of woe?” said the ruler, putting out his hand. “Give something.”
The miserly beggar, astonished, carefully picked up 5 grains of rice from his bowl and laid them on the king’s outstretched palm.
The king drove away. The beggar’s disappointment was great. He raved and ranted, and cursed the king again and again for his miserliness finally, his anger spent, he went on his rounds.
When he returned home in the evening, he found a bag of rice on the floor.
“Some generous soul has been here, he thought and took out a handful of rice from the bag. To his astonshment there was a small piece of gold in it. He realized then that the bag had been sent by the king. He emptied the rice on the floor, feeling sure there would be more gold pieces in it, and he was right. He found 5, one for each grain of rice he had given the king.

Carpenter ants get their name because they build their nests in wood. This pest can cause significant damage to your house. There are many types of carpenter ants. measuring in size from one-quarter inch (about the width of a pencil) for a worker carpenter ant to three-quarters of an inch (about the size of a quarter) for a queen carpenter ant.
Each colony is established by a single, fertilized queen. She starts her nest in a cavity in wood, where she raises her first brood of workers. She feeds them saliva and does not leave the nest or feed herself during this time.
When they are ready, those workers then get the job of gathering food to feed the next generation. Once mature, this first generation of worker ants work to increase the food supply for the colony. The colony population grows very rapidly. A colony can eventually produce 2,000 or more workers.
Carpenter ants do not eat the wood they remove during their nest-building activities, but deposit it outside entrances to the colony in small piles. The diet of carpenter ants includes living and dead insects, meat, fats and sugary foods of all kinds, including honeydew and nectar from plants.
Carpenter ants build nests anywhere they can find water and moldy or damp wood, such as tree stumps, firewood or in the plants around your house. Carpenter ants also build nests inside, usually entering buildings through wet, damaged wood, although it isn’t uncommon for them to adapt to drier environments.
Carpenter ants don’t carry disease, but when building a nest inside a home, Carpenter ants dig smooth tunnels inside the wood. These tunnels weaken the wood and potentially damage the wood that keeps the house standing. This kind of damage can be very expensive to fix.
    the great white shark
Few creatures strike more fear in humans than the great white shark. In reality, great white shark attacks on humans are rare – and it is even rarer for one of these attacks to be fatal. However, the size of the great white shark and its efficiency as a predator add to the perpetuation of this unnecessary fear.
The great white shark averages 4.5 m (15 ft.) in length, but some have been recorded as large as 6 m (20 ft.) long! They generally weigh up to 2250 kg (5000 lb.).
Great white sharks are blue-gray on the dorsal, or top, part of their bodies. This helps them blend in with the bottom of the ocean when viewed from above. The belly, or ventral, part of the body, is white. This makes it difficult to see the sharks from below, with sunlight shining in around them. They have strong, torpedo-shaped bodies and powerful tails that help them swim. Great whites can reach speeds up to 24 km/hr (15 mph).
Great whites use their speed and coloring to help them hunt. They search for prey at the surface of the ocean while swimming below. Once they spot a target, they use a burst of speed to bump their prey while simultaneously biting it. They have several rows of teeth that can number into the thousands. As teeth fall out, they are rapidly replaced by those in the row behind them. These sharp, serrated teeth can be devastating. A single, large bite can be fatal.
When great white sharks are young, they feed on smaller prey, like fish and rays. As they grow larger, they feed more exclusively on marine mammals, such as sea lions, seals and small whales.
The great white is at the top of the food chain and has few threats in the ocean. Only orcas and larger sharks can pose a risk. The only other risk to the great white shark is human interaction. They are sometimes caught by accident in fishing nets or intentionally sought out by sport fisherman. Their jaws and fins are sold for considerable amounts of money.
Not much is known about the mating habits of great white sharks. What is known is that after mating the female develops several eggs which hatch in her womb. The newly-hatched shark pups feed on unfertilized eggs in the womb as they develop

feed on unfertilized eggs in the womb as they develop before being born. In general, the mother gives birth to a litter of two to ten pups, each of which average 1.5 m (5 ft.) in length. Male great whites reach maturity at 9-10 years of age. Females mature even later, between 14 and 16 years of age. Female sharks are thought to give birth once every couple years, but even that is uncertain.
Great whites spend their time in temperate waters all over the world, although they have been known to make brief trips into colder water in the north. They live in the upper part of the ocean, towards the surface, and close to the shore, where sunlight shines through and prey is available.
    Polar Bear (Ursus maritimus)
Polar bearPolar bears, or “sea bears,” are the world’s largest land predators, weighing up to 600 kg (1300 lb.) and measuring up to 3 m (10 ft.) tall. On average they live to be about 25 years old, reaching sexual maturity at around 4 years.
Although they appear white or yellow in color, their fur is actually clear and hollow, and their skin is black. Their visibly pale coloring is caused by the reflection and scattering of light.
Inhabiting the ice and sea of the Arctic, polar bears are well-equipped for survival in a harsh environment. Two coats of fur and a thick layer of blubber help insulate the polar bear’s body from the cold, keeping its temperature at an even 37° C (98.6° F). In addition, polar bears’ paws are especially adapted for walking on the ice and swimming in the sea. Hairs and bumps on the soles of their feet provide traction, while webbing between their toes allows for effective swimming strokes.
Polar bears are also equipped with strong noses. They use their powerful sense of smell when hunting for seals, their main source of food. They can smell a seal’s breathing hole, or aglu, up to one mile away. Once located, a polar bear will wait patiently by the hole and attack the seal’s head when it comes up for air. In ideal hunting conditions, the bear will just eat the seal fat, leaving the carcass for other animals. However, when food is scarce, polar bears will eat just about anything. Supplemental foods include walruses, short-legged reindeer, birds, bird eggs, kelp, and beached whales. When in proximity to human settlements, they have even been known to eat garbage such as Styrofoam.
Polar bear cubsPolar bears do not hibernate like other bears, but females do enter into a dormant state while pregnant. After mating in the spring, a female polar bear spends the summer ingesting large amounts of food and building a maternity den in a snow drift to prepare for the arrival of her cubs.
In the fall, she enters into a dormant state, remaining this way even as she gives birth. The litter, usually two cubs, will spend two years with their mother learning essential hunting and survival skills.
Black and white stripes make the zebra one of the most recognizable animals in the world. The plains zebra, also known as the common zebra, is the most abundant of three species of zebra, inhabiting the grasslands of eastern and southern Africa. The other two species are Grevy’s zebras and mountain zebras.
On average, plains zebras are smaller than the other two species of zebra. They range in height from 1-1.5 m (3.5-5 ft.) and can weigh almost 450 kg (1000 lbs.). Plains zebras also have a different stripe pattern than the other species. They have broad stripes that run horizontally towards the back and vertically towards the front, meeting in a triangle in the middle of their bodies. They also have a stripe that runs down the center of their backs onto the tail. Finally, plains zebras have underbelly stripes. Although all plains zebras share these similarities in stripe patterns, no two zebras have exactly the same pattern.

Zebras have very good hearing and eyesight, which helps them stay clear of predators such as lions, hyenas, and cheetahs. It also helps that they can run 56 km/h (35 mph) and pack a powerful kick. If one zebra spots a predator, it lets out a sharp two-syllable call. The young and female zebras run, while the males trail behind to defend them. If one is attacked, others circle around to help protect it from predators.
Plains zebras are herbivores, meaning they eat plants. They spend the majority of their day eating, mostly grazing on grass, but also eating leaves and stems. To keep up with the frequent grinding of these foods, zebras’ back teeth continue to grow throughout their lives.
Zebras are known to travel great distances to find food and water when the dry season arrives.
When not eating or traveling, zebras do take the opportunity to sleep. In fact, they sleep standing up! But zebras only sleep when they are in large groups so that they can be alerted of danger.
A typical plains zebra family consists of a male, called a stallion, several females, called mares, and their children. When a female becomes pregnant, it takes 13 months to have the baby, called a foal. These family groups are called harems. The harems will often join with other families to form large herds.
Zebras can live up to 25 years in the wild.
    Green Sea Turtle (Chelonia mydas)
When born, green sea turtles are only 5 cm (2 in) long. But they grow up to 1.5 meters (5 ft) in length and can weigh over 300 kg (700 lbs), making them the largest of the hardshell sea turtles.
The dorsal shell of the green turtle, or carapace, is wide, smooth, and brownish-olive in color. The underside of the shell, or plastron, is yellow. Green sea turtles are so named for the greenish hue of their skin. They have heads that cannot retract into their bodies, a trait commonly associated with turtles. Reaching speeds of up to 56 km/h (35 mph), their streamlined shell and paddle-like flippers aid in their ability to swim quickly and with grace.
Green sea turtles are able to hold their breath for hours at a time. Because they are cold-blooded, the temperature of the water affects their ability to hold their breath. In colder water they can hold their breath for longer.
With features well-adapted to sea life, their agile mobility underwater does not carry over to their travels on the beach. On land they move slowly, laboriously pulling themselves along with their flippers. But in general, green turtles only venture onto land to lay their eggs. Females lay eggs every 2-4 years once they are sexually mature.
To reach their nesting grounds, green turtles migrate long distances, traveling back to the beaches where they were born. After mating in the shallow waters near shore, female turtles climb onto the beach and lay their eggs in a pit. They lay 100-200 eggs at a time and leave them alone for 2 months before they hatch. Once the baby turtles hatch, they must crawl to the water and avoid a multitude of predators, including birds and crabs.
Green sea turtles make their home in tropical and subtropical oceans worldwide. There are two types of green turtles, the Atlantic green turtle and the Eastern Pacific green turtle. It is debated whether these are subspecies or completely separate species. Each of the populations has its own feeding and breeding grounds. Atlantic green turtles are found throughout the Atlantic Ocean, while Eastern Pacific green turtles are found in the Indian Ocean, Pacific Ocean, and Mediterranean and Black Seas. Over 80 countries in the world have green turtles nest on their beaches.
Green sea turtles feed on crabs, jellyfish, and other creatures as juveniles. As adults they become herbivores, primarily eating sea grasses and algae.

Atlantic puffin Dubbed “sea parrots” as well as “clowns of the sea,” Atlantic puffins sport large, brightly-colored beaks on their substantially-sized heads. Crisp black and white markings on their plumage, as well as superior diving capabilities, have led people to compare the northern seabirds to penguins. However, Atlantic puffins are actually not related to penguins at all. They are in fact small seabirds (about 25 cm, or 10 in., long) that belong to the Alcidae (auk) family.
For most of the year, Atlantic puffins live on the open ocean, with a range spanning from the eastern coast of Canada and the northern United States to the western coast of Europe and northern Russia. 60% of the world’s puffins live near Iceland.
Puffins are specially adapted to living on the open sea. Waterproof feathers allow them stay warm as they float at the ocean’s surface or swim underwater. Diving as deep as 60 m (200 ft.), they swim by flapping their wings as if flying through the water and use their feet to steer. There, they hunt herring, hake, capelin, and sand eels. They supplement their meals by drinking saltwater.
Atlantic puffins are also excellent fliers. Flapping their wings at up to 400 beats per minute, puffins can reach speeds of 88 km/h (55mph).
April to mid-August is breeding season for puffins. When a puffin is around 3-5 years old, it will choose a partner at sea to mate with for life.
It is thought that the birds’ colorful bills and feet, which fade in the winter and brighten in the spring, help puffins assess potential mates.
Once on land, the pairs of puffins reunite within the colony. Some pairs exhibit a special behavior known as “billing” where the two birds rub their beaks together. This often draws an excited crowd of other puffins to watch.
Puffins create burrows, about 90 cm (3 ft.), in rocky cliffs either in the soil or between rocks. Often, couples will return to the same burrow year after year. At the back of the burrow, they build a nest lined with grasses, seaweed, and feathers. After the female lays a single egg, both parents take turn incubating the egg for about 40 days.
Once the chick hatches, the mother and father will take turns bringing it fish to eat several times a day. Atlantic puffins have the ability to carry several fish in their beaks at one time. They push the fish to the back of their mouth with their tongue, where ridges at the top of their bill secure the fish in place. This allows puffins to keep their mouth open to catch more fish without losing any in the process. In general, they can hold around 10 fish in their beak at once.
The chick stays in the burrow until it is able to fly. The young puffin uses a toilet area towards the front of the burrow away from the nest to stay clean. It cannot risk getting its feathers soiled and ruining the waterproof protection they provide. After 45 days, the chick leaves the burrow and spends 3-5 years at sea learning about feeding places and choosing a mate.
In the wild, puffins can live around 20 years. Their main predator is the great black-backed gull, which can capture a puffin mid-flight or swoop in on a puffin on the ground. Herring gulls are also a threat because they steal puffins’ fish (sometimes right from their mouths), and they pull puffin chicks or eggs from their nests.
Panda bear is a standout amongst the most jeopardized creatures and on the edge of eradication. Anyway, a group of researchers has been framed around the backwoods in China to help spare the panda bear populace. This report will let you know about the panda bear and why they are imperiled.

Pandas live in territories with a ton of different creatures yet have couple of foes. They lived in Southeast China. They live in the cool backwoods on the inclines of the dim mountains. There are a considerable measure of bamboo trees to eat.
Pandas invest energy to eat for around 10 to 12 hours a day, around 40-80 kg. Panda nourishment comprises of 99% bamboo yet infrequently they eat different plants or meat furthermore nectar. Honey bee stings would not hurt Panda on the grounds that they have a tough skin. Pandas eat in a sitting position. Panda does not rest like other bear sorts.
Pandas just have one foe. Their foes are wild puppies. At the point when the wild canines assaulted them. Panda will climb trees to evade battles.
Panda generation rate is truly low. Female pandas don’t breed until 5 to 7 years. Female pandas can just have up to 3 children at one time. The infant panda are as little as child cat. Children normally leave their mom following 18 months.
Panda is imperiled in view of a few issues. First and foremost, the reproducing season just happens in the middle of March and May. Second, the panda living space is not sufficiently enormous. The latter is poaching. Some of the time the pandas stuck in the trap which is made for different creatures
Presently you know the data about panda and why it is imperiled. The pandas ought to be helped and spared or these excellent creature will be terminated.
Lion lives in prairie, bushes, and open forests of Saharan, Africa. Lion is the second biggest feline on the planet. Its size is marginally littler than tiger. Be that as it may, they are nearly related and have fundamentally the same body. Lion is unique in relation to other enormous felines. They are extremely amiable creatures. They live in gatherings. There are around 30 lions in a gathering comprising of three guys, twelve females, and whatever remains of their kids. The quantity of gathering individuals is dictated by the accessibility of nourishment and water.
They thunder one another to track their spot. Male and female lions have a capable thunder that can be heard up to 8 km. Male and female lion have an altogether different part in the gathering. Male lions invest their energy to keep their domain and their youngsters. They keep up their limits. While female lions or lioness is the primary seeker bunch. They are littler and more spry than male lions. Anyway, they cooperate in getting their prey.
They generally chase around evening time. Their prey are gazelle, bison, zebra, rhinos, hippos, wild pig, crocodile, youthful elephants, and giraffe. At the same time, in some cases they likewise eat the littler prey, for example, rodents, flying creatures, rabbits, reptiles, and turtles.
In the wake of getting their prey, all the lions in the gathering impart their prey. However, there is a pecking request. The male lions take the first claim, trailed by lionesses, and the latter is their kids.

Although the dolphins have 100 teeth, they don’t use their teeth to eat. They use it to get fish then they swallow the fish. They can consume fish up to 15 kg per day. They always gather in a group to hunt fish.
Cats are similar in anatomy to the other felids, with a strong, flexible body, quick reflexes, sharp retractable claws, and teeth adapted to killing small prey. Cat senses fit a crepuscular and predatory ecological niche. Cats can hear sounds too faint or too high in frequency for human ears, such as those made by mice and other small animals. They can see in near darkness. Like most other mammals, cats have poorer color vision and a better sense of smell than humans. Cats, despite being solitary hunters, are a social species and cat communication includes the use of a variety of vocalizations (mewing, purring, trilling, hissing, growling, and grunting), as well as cat pheromones and types of cat-specific body language.
Cats have a high breeding rate. Under controlled breeding, they can be bred and shown as registered pedigree pets, a hobby known as cat fancy. Failure to control the breeding of pet cats by neutering and the abandonment of former household pets has resulted in large numbers of feral cats worldwide, requiring population control. This has contributed, along with habitat destruction and other factors, to the extinction of many bird species.
Cats have been known to extirpate a bird species within specific regions and may have contributed to the extinction of isolated island populations. Cats are thought to be primarily, though not solely, responsible for the extinction of 33 species of birds, and the presence of feral and free ranging cats makes some locations unsuitable for attempted species reintroduction in otherwise suitable locations.

Snakes are elongated, legless, carnivorous reptiles of the suborder Serpentes that can be distinguished from legless lizards by their lack of eyelids and external ears. Like all squamates, snakes are ectothermic, amniote vertebrates covered in overlapping scales. Many species of snakes have skulls with several more joints than their lizard ancestors, enabling them to swallow prey much larger than their heads with their highly mobile jaws. To accommodate their narrow bodies, snakes’ paired organs (such as kidneys) appear one in front of the other instead of side by side, and most have only one functional lung. Some species retain a pelvic girdle with a pair of vestigial claws on either side of the cloaca.
Living snakes are found on every continent except Antarctica, and on most smaller land masses; exceptions include some large islands, such as Ireland and New Zealand, and many small islands of the Atlantic and central Pacific. Additionally, sea snakes are widespread throughout the Indian and Pacific Oceans. More than 20 families are currently recognized, comprising about 500 genera and about 3,400 species. They range in size from the tiny, 10 cm-long thread snake to the reticulated python of up to 6.95 meters (22.8 ft) in length. The fossil species Titanoboa cerrejonensis was 13 meters (43 ft) long. Snakes are thought to have evolved from either burrowing or aquatic lizards, perhaps during the Jurassic period, with the earliest known fossils dating to between 143 and 167 Ma ago.The diversity of modern snakes appeared during the Paleocene period (c 66 to 56 Ma ago). The oldest preserved descriptions of snakes can be found in the Brooklyn Papyrus.

The donkey or ass (Equus africanus asinus), is a domesticated member of the horse family, Equidae. The wild ancestor of the donkey is the African wild ass, E. africanus. The donkey has been used as a working animal for at least 5000 years. There are more than 40 million donkeys in the world, mostly in underdeveloped countries, where they are used principally as draught or pack animals. Working donkeys are often associated with those living at or below subsistence levels. Small numbers of donkeys are kept for breeding or as pets in developed countries.
A male donkey or ass is called a jack, a female a jenny or jennet; a young donkey is a foal. Jack donkeys are often used to mate with female horses to produce mules — the biological “reciprocal” of a mule, from a stallion and jenny as its parents instead, is called a hinny.
Asses were first domesticated around 3000 BC, probably in Egypt or Mesopotamia, and have spread around the world. They continue to fill important roles in many places today. While domesticated species are increasing in numbers, the African wild ass and another relative, the onager, are endangered. As beasts of burden and companions, asses and donkeys have worked together with humans for millennia.
The tiger (Panthera tigris) is the largest cat species, reaching a total body length of up to 3.38 m (11.1 ft) over curves and exceptionally weighing up to 388.7 kg (857 lb) in the wild. Its most recognisable feature is a pattern of dark vertical stripes on reddish-orange fur with a lighter underside. The species is classified in the genus Panthera with the lion, leopard, jaguar and snow leopard. Tigers are apex predators, primarily preying on ungulates such as deer and bovids. They are territorial and generally solitary but social animals, often requiring large contiguous areas of habitat that support their prey requirements. This, coupled with the fact that they are indigenous to some of the more densely populated places on Earth, has caused significant conflicts with humans.
Tigers once ranged widely across Asia, from Turkey in the west to the eastern coast of Russia.

Elephants are large mammals of the family Elephantidae and the order Proboscidea. Two species are traditionally recognised, the African elephant (Loxodonta africana) and the Asian elephant (Elephas maximus), although some evidence suggests that African bush elephants and African forest elephants are separate species (L. africana and L. cyclotis respectively). Elephants are scattered throughout sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, and Southeast Asia. Elephantidae is the only surviving family of the order Proboscidea; other, now extinct, members of the order include deinotheres, gomphotheres, mammoths, and mastodons. Male African elephants are the largest extant terrestrial animals and can reach a height of 4 m (13 ft) and weigh 7,000 kg (15,000 lb). All elephants have several distinctive features the most notable of which is a long trunk or proboscis, used for many purposes, particularly breathing, lifting water and grasping objects. Their incisors grow into tusks, which can serve as weapons and as tools for moving objects and digging. Elephants’ large ear flaps help to control their body temperature. Their pillar-like legs can carry their great weight. African elephants have larger ears and concave backs while Asian elephants have smaller ears and convex or level backs

Eagles are large, powerfully built birds of prey, with a heavy head and beak. Even the smallest eagles, like the booted eagle (Aquila pennata) (which is comparable in size to a common buzzard (Buteo buteo) or red-tailed hawk (B. jamaicensis)), have relatively longer and more evenly broad wings, and more direct, faster flight – despite the reduced size of aerodynamic feathers. Most eagles are larger than any other raptors apart from some vultures. The smallest species of eagle is the South Nicobar serpent eagle (Spilornis klossi), at 450 g (0.99 lb) and 40 cm (16 in). The largest species are discussed below. Like all birds of prey, eagles have very large hooked beaks for ripping flesh from their prey, strong muscular legs, and powerful talons. The beak is typically heavier than that of most other birds of prey. Eagles’ eyes are extremely powerful, having up to 3.6 times human acuity for the martial eagle, which enables them to spot potential prey from a very long distance. This keen eyesight is primarily attributed to their extremely large pupils which ensure minimal diffraction (scattering) of the incoming light. The female of all known species of eagles is larger than the male

The giraffe’s scattered range extends from Chad in the north to South Africa in the south, and from Niger in the west to Somalia in the east. Giraffes usually inhabit savannahs, grasslands, and open woodlands. Their primary food source is acacia leaves, which they browse at heights most other herbivores cannot reach. Giraffes are preyed on by lions; their calves are also targeted by leopards, spotted hyenas, and African wild dogs. Adult giraffes do not have strong social bonds, though they do gather in loose aggregations if they happen to be moving in the same general direction. Males establish social hierarchies through “necking”, which are combat bouts where the neck is used as a weapon. Dominant males gain mating access to females, which bear the sole responsibility for raising the young.

Cuttings are planted in 3-inch pots within 4 weeks, then to 6-inches when pot is becoming filled with roots. The soil should be kept moist but well drained for optimum growth. Frequent pruning is required to grow it as a shrub of desired size. Pruning also helps keep an abundance of flowers, since flowers are produced on new wood. It grows in full sun to partial shade. Fertilize monthly with a balanced fertilizer. Tulips are spring-blooming perennials that grow from bulbs. The tulip’s large flowers usually bloom on scapes. Most tulips produce only one flower per stem, but a few species bear multiple flowers on their scapes.

They can survive up to 9-18 years in the wild. But there is also a kangaroo who reached the age of 28 years.
Based on the color and distribution, they are divided into three species. The first is Red Kangaroo. This species is the largest marsupial animals which are still alive on the earth. When standing, their height can reach more than 2 meters and weigh up to 90 kg. This kind of kangaroos lives in large groups. Red kangaroo is very dependent on the weather and water. They are more active in cold weather and become passive in hot weather. The next one is eastern gray kangaroo. This species has a gray fur color. They are smaller than the red kangaroo. This type of kangaroo is found in eastern Australia, and the last is western gray kangaroos. This species is found in the western and southern Australia. They are very numerous in nature. They reproduce by bearing its child. Time period of pregnancy in female kangaroo depends on every species. In gray kangaroo ranged 18-38 days, while for red kangaroo species (Macropus rufus) experienced a period of gestation about 33 days. After the baby kangaroo is born, kangaroo raises the child inside its pouches.

Football or soccer, which is considered to be the most popular sport in the world, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players using a spherical ball.
The object of the game, which is played on a wide rectangular field with a goal on each end of the field, is to score by putting the ball into the adversary goal. The goal is kept by a goalkeeper who is allowed, at the exception of other players, to use his / her hands in the game. The winners are those who score the most goals. If the football match ends in a draw the two teams may be redirected to play extra time and / or penalty shootouts.
The way football is played now was first codified in England. Nowadays, it is governed by the FIFA, “Fédération Internationale de Football Association” (International Federation of Association Football.) The game is played now all over the world and competitions are organized nationally, continentally and internationally. The most prestigious of football competitions is the World Cup, which is held every four years. Badminton is a racket sport played by either two opposing players (singles) or two opposing pairs (doubles), who take positions on opposite halves of a rectangular court divided by a net. Players score points by striking a shuttlecock with their racquet so that it passes over the net and lands in their opponents’ half of the court.

Each side may only strike the shuttlecock once before it passes over the net. A rally ends once the shuttlecock has struck the floor, or if a fault has been called by either the umpire or service judge or, in their absence, the offending player, at any time during the rally.
The shuttlecock is a feathered or (mainly in non-competitive matches) plastic projectile whose unique aerodynamic properties cause it to fly differently from the balls used in most racket sports; in particular, the feathers create much higher drag, causing the shuttlecock to decelerate more rapidly than a ball. Shuttlecocks have a much higher top speed, when compared to other racket sports. Because shuttlecock flight is affected by wind, competitive badminton is played indoors. Badminton is also played outdoors as a casual recreational activity, often as a garden or beach game. Since 1992, badminton has been an Olympic sport with five competition/events: men’s and women’s singles, men’s and women’s doubles, and mixed doubles, in which each pair consists of a man and a woman. At high levels of play, especially in singles, the sport demands excellent fitness: players require aerobic stamina, agility, explosive strength, speed and precision. It is also a technical sport, requiring good motor coordination and the development of sophisticated racket movements. Boxing is a martial art and combat sport in which two people engage in a contest of strength, speed, reflexes, endurance and will, by throwing punches at each other, usually with gloved hands. Historically, the goals have been to weaken and knock down the opponent.
Amateur boxing is both an Olympic and Commonwealth sport and is a common fixture in most international games—it also has its own World Championships. Boxing is supervised by a referee over a series of one- to three-minute intervals called rounds. The result is decided when an opponent is deemed incapable to continue by a referee, is disqualified for breaking a rule, resigns by throwing in a towel, or is pronounced the winner or loser based on the judges’ scorecards at the end of the contest. In the event that both fighters gain equal scores from the judges, the fight is considered a draw.
While people have fought in hand-to-hand combat since before the dawn of history, the origin of boxing as an organized sport may be its acceptance by the ancient Greeks as an Olympic game in BC 688. Boxing evolved from 16th- and 18th-century prizefights, largely in Great Britain, to the forerunner of modern boxing in the mid-19th century, again initially in Great Britain and later in the United States. Chess is a two-player board game played on a chessboard, a checkered gameboard with 64 squares arranged in an eight-by-eight grid. Chess is played by millions of people worldwide, both amateurs and professionals.
Each player begins the game with 16 pieces: one king, one queen, two rooks, two knights, two bishops, and eight pawns. Each of the six piece types moves differently. The most powerful piece is the queen and the least powerful piece is the pawn. The objective is to ‘checkmate’ the opponent’s king by placing it under an inescapable threat of capture. To this end, a player’s pieces are used to attack and capture the opponent’s pieces, while supporting their own. In addition to checkmate, the game can be won by voluntary resignation by the opponent, which typically occurs when too much material is lost, or if checkmate appears unavoidable. A game may also result in a draw in several ways. Swimming is an individual or team sport and activity. Evidence of recreational swimming in prehistoric times has been found, with the earliest evidence dating to Stone Age paintings from around 10000 years ago. Written references date from 2000 BC, with some of the earliest references to swimming including the Iliad, the Odyssey, the Bible, Beowulf, the Quran and others. In 1538, Nikolaus Wynmann, a German professor of languages, wrote the first swimming book, The Swimmer or A Dialogue on the Art of Swimming (Der Schwimmer oder ein Zweigespräch über die Schwimmkunst). Tennis is a racket sport that can be played individually against a single opponent (singles) or between two teams of two players each (doubles). Each player uses a tennis racket that is strung with cord to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over or around a net and into the opponent’s court. The object of the game is to play the ball in such a way that the opponent is not able to play a valid return. The player who is unable to return the ball will not gain a point, while the opposite player will.
Tennis is an Olympic sport and is played at all levels of society and at all ages. The sport can be played by anyone who can hold a racket, including wheelchair users. The modern game of tennis originated in Birmingham, England, in the late 19th century as “lawn tennis”. It had close connections both to various field (“lawn”) games such as croquet and bowls as well as to the older racket sport of real tennis. During most of the 19th-century in fact, the term “tennis” referred to real tennis, not lawn tennis: for example, in Disraeli’s novel Sybil (1845), Lord Eugene De Vere announces that he will “go down to Hampton Court and play tennis. Running is a method of terrestrial locomotion allowing humans and other animals to move rapidly on foot. Running is a type of gait characterized by an aerial phase in which all feet are above the ground (though there are exceptions. This is in contrast to walking, where one foot is always in contact with the ground, the legs are kept mostly straight and the center of gravity vaults over the stance leg or legs in an inverted pendulum fashion. A characteristic feature of a running body from the viewpoint of spring-mass mechanics is that changes in kinetic and potential energy within a stride occur simultaneously, with energy storage accomplished by springy tendons and passive muscle elasticity. The term running can refer to any of a variety of speeds ranging from jogging to sprinting.
It is assumed that the ancestors of mankind developed the ability to run for long distances about 2.6 million years ago, probably in order to hunt animals. Competitive running grew out of religious festivals in various areas. Records of competitive racing date back to the Tailteann Games in Ireland in 1829 BCE,[citation needed] while the first recorded Olympic Games took place in 776 BCE. Running has been described as the world’s most accessible sport. Pempek, mpek-mpek or empek-empek is a savoury fishcake delicacy from Palembang,Indonesia, made of fish and tapioca. Pempek is served with yellow noodles and a dark, rich sweet and sour sauce called kuah cuka or kuah cuko (lit. vinegar sauce), or “cuko”.Pempek is the best-known of Palembang’s dishes. Its origin is undoubtedly Palembang. However, the history behind the creation of this savoury dish is unclear. According to local tradition, around the 16th century there was an old Chinese immigrant who lived near the Musi river. He noticed an abundance of fish caught by the local fishermen. In the Sumatran tropical climate, before the invention of refrigeration technology, most of these unsold leftover fish decayed and were wasted. The indigenous people, however had limited knowledge and techniques for processing fish. During that period, most of the indigenous people simply grilled, fried or boiled their fish instead of adding other ingredients to make new dishes. The old Chinese man mixed in some tapioca and other spices, which he then sold around the village on his cart. The people referred to this old man as ‘pek-apek, where apek is a Chinese slang word to call an old man. The food is known today as empek-empek or pempek.

Rabbits are small mammals that can be found naturally in South Africa, Sumatra, Japan and Europe. Rabbits are also often found in desert areas in the Middle East where rabbits inhabiting the greener parts of the desert to search the foods and water in order to survive.
Rabbit is an herbivore that its main food is grass, but it also eats nuts and fruit or vegetables. Rabbits dig burrows into the ground to hide food, and also gave birth to a baby and raise them.
Nowadays, the rabbit is a popular pet especially for young kids because of their calmness. Rabbits can eat grass all day long. The grass is not only good for them, but also helps to keep their teeth. Their teeth grow constantly and if the rabbits can’t gnaw at certain things, then their teeth can grow very long which causes pain and even death.
Rabbits live an average of about 8 years if as pets, but many wild rabbits do not live long. Because rabbits are prey of other animals. Rabbits are also vulnerable to myxomatosis, a disease that causes rabbit tumor develops quickly. Pet rabbits should be vaccinated every 6 months to a year to prevent the disease. Rabbits are seen as pests by farmers and gardeners because of their destructive nature on fertile soil. In Australia, the myxomatosis virus was deliberately propagated as a form of pest control rabbits.
Today there are more than 50 species of rabbit and the numbers will continue to increase. The smallest rabbit species are the Mini Lop weigh about 5 ounces, the largest species of rabbit and a Flemish Giant Rabbits weigh between 5 kg and 9kg.

Female rabbits give birth to an average of 6 babies at one time. Tiger (Panthera Tigris) is mammal that belongs to Chordate phylum (having spinal cord), Vertebrate subphylum (vertebrates), Felidae family (cat), Panthera genus, and Tigris species. They are the biggest cat that lives on earth. Even they are bigger than a lion. Besides being the largest cat, they are also the second fastest cat in terms of running, after cheetah. In the class of carnivorous animal, they are the third largest carnivores after polar bears and grizzly bears.
They have nine sub- species of which three species have been declared Vanished. The subspecies which still live on earth are Siberian tigers, tiger South China tiger, Indochinese tiger, Bengal tiger, and Malayan tiger. In general, male tigers weigh between 180 and 320 kg, while the weight is between 120 and 180 kg for females. Their body length is between 2.6 and 3.3 meters for males, while females’ body length is between 2.3 and 2.75 meters. Among the surviving subspecies, Sumatran tigers are the smallest and Siberian tigers are the biggest tiger in the world.
They have stripes on its body. The stripes are usually used as identity because each tiger has a different striped pattern. Besides used for an identity, it is also useful for camouflage from its prey.

They are a meat -eating animals (carnivores). They usually hunt fairly large prey such as forest cattle, elk, deer, and pigs. They belong to solitary animals. They prefer to live and hunt alone. Although come from the same family, they are different from ordinary cat. They really like to swim.
Tigers reproduce by whelping. They usually breed in November until April. They have a gestation period about 3-4 weeks and can produce 3 to 4 cubs. On March 11, 2011, a magnitude-9 earthquake shook northeastern Japan, unleashing a savage tsunami. The earthquake was centered on the seafloor 45 miles (72 kilometers) east of Tohoku, at a depth of 15 miles (24 km) below the surface. The shaking lasted about six minutes.
Residents of Tokyo received a minute of warning before the strong shaking hit the city, thanks to Japan’s earthquake early warning system. The country’s stringent seismic building codes and early warning system prevented many deaths from the earthquake, by stopping high-speed trains and factory assembly lines. People in Japan also received texted alerts of the earthquake and tsunami warnings on their cellphones.
Less than an hour after the earthquake, the first of many tsunami waves hit Japan’s coastline. The tsunami waves reached run-up heights (how far the wave surges inland above sea level) of up to 128 feet (39 meters) at Miyako city and traveled inland as far as 6 miles (10 km) in Sendai. The tsunami flooded an estimated area of approximately 217 square miles (561 square kilometers) in Japan.
The tsunami caused a cooling system failure at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, which resulted in a level-7 nuclear meltdown and release of radioactive materials. The electrical power and backup generators were overwhelmed by the tsunami, and the plant lost its cooling capabilities. In July 2013, TEPCO, the Tokyo Electric Power Company, admitted that about 300 tons of radioactive water continues to leak from the plant every day into the Pacific Ocean.
It is estimated that there are 500,000 detectable earthquakes in the world each year. 100,000 of those can be felt, and 100 of them cause damage. The largest recorded earthquake in the world was a magnitude 9.5 (Mw) in Chile on May 22, 1960. The world’s deadliest recorded earthquake occurred in 1556 in central China. It struck a region where most people lived in caves carved from soft rock. These dwellings collapsed during the earthquake, killing an estimated 830,000 people. In 1976 another deadly earthquake struck in Tangshan, China, where more than 250,000 people were killed.
Before electronics allowed recordings of large earthquakes, scientists built large spring-pendulum seismometers in an attempt to record the long-period motion produced by such quakes. The largest one weighed about 15 tons. There is a medium-sized one three stories high in Mexico City that is still in operation. The first “pendulum seismoscope” to measure the shaking of the ground during an earthquake was developed in 1751, and it wasn’t until 1855 that faults were recognized as the source of earthquakes.
Most earthquakes occur at depths of less than 80 km (50 miles) from the Earth’s surface. The magnitude of an earthquake is a measured value of the earthquake size. The magnitude is the same no matter where you are, or how strong or weak the shaking was in various locations. The intensity of an earthquake is a measure of the shaking created by the earthquake, and this value does vary with location.

Moonquakes (“earthquakes” on the moon) do occur, but they happen less frequently and have smaller magnitudes than earthquakes on the Earth. It appears they are related to the tidal stresses associated with the varying distance between the Earth and Moon. They also occur at great depth, about halfway between the surface and the center of the moon.
A volcano is a mountain that opens downward to a pool of molten rock below the surface of the earth. When pressure builds up, eruptions occur. There are more than 500 active volcanoes in the world. More than half of these volcanoes are part of the “Ring of Fire,” a region that encircles the Pacific Ocean.
An erupting volcano can trigger tsunamis, flash floods, earthquakes, mudflows and rockfalls. In an eruption, gases and rock shoot up through the opening and spill over or fill the air with lava fragments. Eruptions can cause lava flows, hot ash flows, mudslides, avalanches, falling ash and floods. Fresh volcanic ash, made of pulverized rock, can be harsh, acidic, gritty, glassy and smelly. The ash can cause damage to the lungs of older people, babies and people with respiratory problems. The sound of an eruption volcano can be quiet and hissing or explosive and booming. The loud cracks travel hundreds of miles and do the most damage, including hearing loss and broken glass. Volcanic lightning occurs mostly within the cloud of ash during an eruption, and is created by the friction of the ash rushing to the surface. Roughly 200 accounts of this lightning have been witnessed live.
General classification. We may think that tsunami is a single giant wave that hits the coast at one short time. But the fact is, tsunami is a series of ocean waves existed by the effect of landslide, underwater earthquake, or volcanic eruption. In rarely occasion, a giant meteor that hits the ocean will generate tsunami. In a simple way, tsunami is just like other regular waves but in a bigger size and power.
Description. In some folk tales, these gigantic waves usually start by a beach that is suddenly dry at a moment. Then, when people come to the beach to collect the fishes, the waves will come and completely destroy everything. It is not a nonsense thing in a tale by the way. It is clearly a sign if tsunami will come after an underwater earthquake.
For those who live in a coastal area near the edge of continental plate, tsunami is a nightmare when an earthquake occurs. Then, for those who live perfectly in coastal area with some volcanic activities near them like Hawaii, tsunami is the most possible disaster that would come anytime.
Tsunami can travel at speed 805 km/h and in the same time the waves can be so high. Even though the first wave is weak, but the following waves will be so strong. The power created by these massive waves will wipe out all the things on its line. It can be more dangerous than atomic bomb.
Therefore, the best suggestion to face tsunami is just to follow wherever the waves flow. Do not swim against it. It will risk your life. A grandmother and 5 Years-old Boy Died Because of Landslide

Motorcycles are descended from the “safety bicycle,” a bicycle with front and rear wheels of the same size and a pedal crank mechanism to drive the rear wheel.
There are many systems for classifying types of motorcycles, describing how the motorcycles are put to use, or the designer’s intent, or some combination of the two. Six main categories are widely recognized: cruiser, sport, touring, standard, dual-purpose bike.
Some motorcycles are specially adapted for specific job functions, such as those used by the ambulance, Blood Bikes, fire, and military services, and for specilized delivery services, such as pizza deliveries. Beginning in the 1960s with the Mountain Goat specialised motorcycles were developed for use on farms.
While motorcycles typically have two wheels, some motorized tricycles are classed as three-wheeled motorcycles. Some brands have made various types of three-wheelers direct from the factory. Most of these vehicles are treated as motorcycles for registration or licensing purposes.

Builder is a person who constructs something by putting parts or material together into a complete home over a period of time. Do you know what and how many types of home builder?
In the building industry, there are several different types of homebuilders. We often hear the term custom homebuilder, spec home builder, and tract home builder. Custom Home Builders are generally small-volume builders and build one-of-a-kind houses on your land. They may offer design/build services or just general contracting services.
Spec Home Builders are built by builders who buy a lot or land, build a house, and then sell the home. The builder “speculates” that he will make money from this transaction of buying a lot and building a custom or semi-custom home on it.
Tract or Production Home Builders are developers or builders who own a large plot (tract) of land, which is divided into numerous smaller lots for “stock plan homes” to be built on. A Tract or Production builder generally has model homes that will be the home designs built on these lots.
The Javan tiger (Panthera tigris sondaica) is an extinct tiger subspecies that inhabited the Indonesian island of Java until the mid-1970s.
Javan tigers were very small compared to other subspecies of the Asian mainland, but larger in size than Bali tigers. They usually had long and thin stripes, which were slightly more numerous than those of the Sumatran tiger.
The males javan tiger had body length of 248 cm and weighed between 100 and 141 kg. Females were smaller than males and weighed between 75 and 115 kg.
Their nose was long and narrow, occipital plane remarkably narrow and carnassials relatively long. Based on these cranial differences, the Javan tiger was proposed to be assigned to a distinct species, Panthera sondaica.
A fever is also known as a high fever or a high temperature. Actually fever is not by itself an illness. It’s usually a symptom of an underlying condition, most often an infection.
Fever is usually associated with physical discomfort, and most people feel better when a fever is treated. But depending on your age, physical condition, and the underlying cause of your fever, you may or may not require medical treatment for the fever alone. Many experts believe that fever is a natural bodily defense against infection.
Fever is generally not considered dangerous, but hyperthermia can cause dangerous rises in body temperature. This can be due to an extreme temperature associated with heat injury such as heat stroke, side effects of certain medications or illicit drugs, and stroke. With hyperthermia, the body is no longer able to control body temperature.
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, an infant younger than 4 months old with a rectal temperature of 100.4 F or above should be immediately brought to a doctor or sent to an emergency room, because it could be a sign of a potentially life-threatening infection.
Flood is a natural event or occurrence where a piece of land (or area) that is usually dry land, suddenly gets submerged under water.
Floods occur at irregular intervals and vary in size, duration and the affected area. Some floods can occur suddenly and recede quickly. Others take days or even months to build and discharge.
When floods happen in an area that people live, the water carries along objects like houses, bridges, cars, furniture and even people. It can wipe away farms, trees and many more heavy items.
Flooding is extremely dangerous and has the potential to wipe away an entire city, coastline or area, and cause extensive damage to life and property.

Sleep is a naturally recurring state of mind characterized by altered consciousness, relatively inhibited sensory activity, inhibition of nearly all voluntary muscles, and reduced interactions with surroundings
Sleep increases an organism’s sensory threshold. In other words, a sleeping creature perceives fewer stimuli. However, it can generally still respond to loud noises and other salient sensory events
Lack of sleep is commonly called sleep deprivation. It tends to cause slower brain waves in the frontal cortex, shortened attention span, higher anxiety, impaired memory, and a grouchy mood. Conversely, a well-rested organism tends to have improved memory and mood
A well-known feature of sleep in humans is the dream, an experience typically recounted in narrative form, which resembles waking life while in progress, but which usually can later be distinguished as fantasy.
Self discipline is doing something even if you hate it or don’t feel like doing it. Doing something because you enjoy doing it is NOT discipline.
Self discipline is exactly like a muscle. The more you exercise it, the more you get used to it, and the further you can push yourself.
Most people are struggle to have the discipline such as solving trouble waking up in the morning, getting themselves to clean the dishes, finishing reports or projects on time, getting themselves to exercise regularly.
Doing something that you absolutely don’t want to do but that you know is great for you is the ultimate way to express self discipline in its purest form. Keep in mind that you will probably never enjoy doing it, but that if you keep on doing it, the rewards that you will reap will be far beyond the measly little satisfaction that you get by not doing it in the first place. Landslide is a geological process that happen because of the movement of rock mass or soil such as the fall of rocks or clumps of soil which detached from the main section of the mountain or hill. Landslide usually happen in the mountainous areas.
Mostly landslides happen because of earthquake that moves the underground plate which caused the element or the subsurface plate displaced, so it is causing fraction and landslide. High rainfall during the rainy season will also caused landslide. Long duration of the rain will occur the water evaporation on the ground surface in large amounts. The evaporation will make pore or soil cavity, then there would be cracks on the ground. When rain falls, the rain will infiltrate the cracks. Then, the water will accumulated at the bottom of the slope and caused lateral movement which occur landslide.
Landslide often caused a lot of disadvantages. Landslide can make people lose their house, lands, and properties because buried by the landslide. The worst is the loss of life because they can’t run from the landslide. So, to prevent landslide to happen, start to care about our environtment. We can start by planting tree and do reforestation. Plus, do not throw trash carelessly to keep our environment clean. So, we would prevent flood and landslide during the rainy season. In the middle of 1815, there was a great eruption which destroyed some of the Indonesia because of the Tambora mountain. Tambora mountain itself was located in the Sumbawa island in Indonesia which erupted at the first on April 5th .it came in the dawn when all of the people were enjoying the bed in the night with their family. There was a great rumbling of water, wind and explosion heard hard. The people were so shocked of it, they looked out the home, and saw the eruption of Tambora mountain and the ash. They were so busy to keep and brought the family and important thing from the home. They ran to the other place which away from the mountain. The goat, cow and buffalo ran down from the mountain too.

Unfortunately, five days after the first eruption, there was a greater eruption later from the Tambora mountain on April 10th and it had killed many people more than 100.000, animal and others. Flaming hot debris thrown into the surrounding ocean and caused the explosions of stream. And more tragic the moderate –sized tsunami storm. The Eiffel Tower is an iron lattice tower located on the Champ de Mars in Paris. Built in 1889, it has become both a global icon of France and one of the most recognizable structures in the world. The tower is the tallest building in Paris and the most-visited paid monument in the world; millions of people ascend it every year.
Named for its designer, engineer Gustave Eiffel, the tower was built as the entrance arch to the 1889 World's Fair. The tower stands 324 metres (1,063 ft) tall, about the same height as an 81-story building. Upon its completion, it surpassed the Washington Monument to assume the title of tallest man-made structure in the world, a title it held for 41 years, until the Chrysler Building in New York City was built in 1930; however, due to the addition in 1957 of the antenna, the tower is now taller than the Chrysler Building. Not including broadcast antennas, it is the second-tallest structure in France after the 2004 Millau Viaduct.
The tower has three levels for visitors. Tickets can be purchased to ascend, by stairs or lift, to the first and second levels. The walk to the first level is over 300 steps, as is the walk from the first to the second level. The third and highest level is accessible only by elevator. Both the first and second levels feature restaurants.
The tower has become the most prominent symbol of both Paris and France, often in the establishing shot of films set in the city. Cu Apel lives in a house with her family. I visit her twice a week. I think she is not too old. She is about seventy years old. However, she still looks fit and strong.
She usually goes to the rice field to help her brother. Sometimes, I go to the field with my brother and help her pick flowers. We love our grandmother. This is about my grandfather, my father’s dad. I call her Pekak. That’s how most Balinese grandchildren call their grandfathers.
He lived in a house with my uncles and aunties. He has 10 children, including my father. That’s why we have a very big family called “Keluarga Nyantel”.
Pekak loved jogging every morning. When we were kids, his grandchildren loved to wake up early and to jog with him. After arriving in one small shop, he bought us tea and fried banana. We were so happy at that time. We love our grandfather. I have a house. It is actually not my house officially, but it can be said as a family house. It is a big and lovely house where my family, my grandmother and grandfather, my cousins, and also I spend our time together, especially in a big events, such as Eid or holidays. My house is located in Bogor city. I really like my house because from my house I can see how beautiful the view of Bogor city.
My house is not a big one. The area of my house is only about 200 meters square and the house itself is about 180 meters square. The design of my house is minimalis as many of houses out there, but it is also combined with a little details of old memories there, such as the windows in my house are old-fashioned ones. Sometimes, it is good to combine the old things with the new ones as the freshment. My house has two floors. The first floor has some rooms. It has living room for my family members or I welcome the guests. The living room has two big sofas, one big wooded table, and one big vase of tulip flowers, the floers that I like the most. Then, there is a family room. It is the biggest room in this house because it is the place where all if my family members gather. In this room, there are one big television hanging on the wall, one big couch and a standing lamp for those who like to read, and one big carpet. There is no sofa in this room because my parents want all of their children and also all of family members to gather and talk together in this room. This is so warm. Then, there is two bedrooms: the main bedroom for my parents and one bedroom is for my grandfather and grandmother when they come or for the guest when they want to spend the night here. The kitchen and the dining room are also in the first floor.
Whereas in the second floor, there are three bedrooms, a mini music room, a mini library, and a mini office. The bedrooms are made not as big as the rooms in the first floor because the rooms in the second floors are for me and other siblings and cousins. The mini music room is made because most of our family members like to play music. There are drum, guitar, and also a set of karaoke things. A mini library is place where I and other family member can read our favorite books in the spare time. While office room is the place where my father or I do our works without any disturbance from others.
This house is not really big, but I feel really warm here with many of my family members gather and laughs together as a strong bond.
My time in senior high school was so colorful. When I enrolled to senior high school, I was amazed by the service, facility, and many extracurricular that were promoted in the school. I was informed that there was a movie club. I was very happy to know it because watching movie is my hobby since I was a kid. Besides, I love to join organization which can support my hobby. Furthermore, in that movie club, the activity was not only watching and reviewing movie together. The most interested activity was making movie.
One day, the leader of the movie club proposed an event to the headmaster.

He would like to hild a movie festival. He said that the movie festival was not only to expand the network of the movie club but it also could promote a good image of my school. After convincing the headmaster, he announced that there was held a meeting regard. I was very excited to involve in that movie festival.
In the meeting, I was shocked that the club leader pointed me as the head project. It was an honour for me, on the other side, that would be a very big respossibility upon my shoulders. But, I would give my best effort to make the event successful. A month ahead, I proved it. In the movie festival, there were many competitions, such as movie making competition, movie soundtrack making, acting competition, and script writing competition. Event though there were some technical problem that I faced during the festival, I could lead the coordination with all comittee well. The event ran greatly. I also got appraisal from the the headmaster and teachers. I never expected but I got it.
Last month, I registered myself to join a running competition. I love to do sport and join many types of sport competition. I think sport is my passion. It can refresh my bodyand soul. I do not need to spend much money to entertain myself. I only need go to swimming pool or stadion to make myself happy. I am grateful that my happiness is as simple as that.
Yesterday was the day that I had to compete. I went to the location of the competition by riding my bicycle. It was also my way to warm myself up. On the way to the location, I saw a grandmother was standing on the edge of the road. I thought that she was going to cross the road but she was afraid. I approached her to help. She was happy because she was helped to cross the road. She said thanks and gave her prayer for my luck. I was happy, too. She already boosted my mood in he morning. And then, I continued to go to the stadion.
Before I arrived at the stadion, I planned to buy some bottles of mineral water in the mini-market near there. However, I saw a young man fell down from his motorcycle. He got injured on his knees and arms. I felt pity of him. I helped him to stand up. Fortunately, I brought some medicines such as betadine and anti-biotic. I gave it to him. I looked at my watch. I just realized that I was almost late. I didn’t think of buying mineral water anymore. I changed my mind that I would directly go to the stadion. But, the young man called me before I went. He gave me two bottles of mineral water to express his thankful feeling. I was very happy. I felt it as double happiness, a happiness of helping, and a happiness of accepting a gift.
I have a lovely cat. I found this cat about 1 year ago in front of my house. It was a little cat who has no house and I could not find her mother so that I decided to take care of it. I named this cat Kitty. Kitty is the one and only cat that I like because it is very cute.

Kitty is about one year old now. It is a persian cat with a very clear bright white fur. It has very smooth fur and the fur is longer than any other cats that I have ever seen. That is maybe because it is a persian cat. Kitty looks very cute and sweet with her white soft fur. Moreover, it has bright blue eyes. When you look at its eyes, you will feel as if you see a sky or a blue ocean because it looks very bright blue. Kitty is a very beautiful cat. I really take care of its fur. I regularly take Kitty to the saloon for animals in my town twice a week to give a treatment for its fur. I also regularly bath it twice a week so that Kitty will be healthy and is not vulnerable of any disease. Moreover, Kitty is a little bit heavier now. It eats much now. I feed it regularly with a special food for cats. I also give Kitty a little bowl of milk three times in a week so that it becomes healthy and well-cared.

Kitty has a heatlhy body so that it becomes very attractive. I really like play with her. Kitty likes to play plastic ball or yarn ball in my house with me. I also sometimes give it a mouse in the form of a toy. It really likes to chase the mouse. I find it very cute when Kitty runs here and there trying to catch the mouse. Kitty is my lovely cat. I sometimes tell many things to it. Even though I know that it may not understand what I say, but at least it always hears what I want to say. I like to play with it when I come home after having an exhausted day at school. I love my cat so much.
When I was kid, I felt out of my friend’s mango tree. At that time, my friends and I wanted to eat mango in front of my friend’s house. The tree was very high. We could not climb it because at that time we were little.
Because no one dared to climb the tree, I braced myself to climb it. I knew that I could not climb the tall tree. However, I want to show them that I was great. Then I climbed the tree. Having reached the top, I started looking for fruit which I would take. I saw my friends from the bottom praised me. “Great, you are awesome!” said one of my friends. “Fetch the fruit!” begged my friend. Then I tried to reach the fruit. However, when I was about to pick it up, the trunk where I stand broken. I felt from the tree. “Gubraaakk” My body crushed the ground. I cried in pain. I see blood was coming out of my head. Every time I see it, I remember my childhood that careless and love to be praised. Last year my family and I went to Bunaken island. We got to the island by boat that we rent in Manado. It took about 50 minutes to get to the island by boat from Manado. We stayed in the island for two days where we got to experience snorkeling and diving.
We departed from Manado at 7 a.m and arrived at the island at 8 a.m. The driver park the boat at a small pier near the entrance gate of the island. We brought all of our luggage down from the boat and took it to the entrance gate, where a small car was already waiting for us. The car was a service from the hotel where we stayed during our vacation in Bunaken.
After checking in at the hotel and put all of our belongings in our room, we rent an atv bike and rode it to the beach. When we arrived at the beach, I changed my clothes into swimming suits and wore a snorkeling mask. I walked to the shore with my father and we jumped into the water. I saw a lot of colorful fish and coral. After sightseeing the beautiful scenery down the sea, I walked back to the beach to get my GoPro camera. I didn’t realize that the waterproof case was not tightly sealed when I jumped back into the water, and my camera was broken.
I brought the camera to my father. He checked it and he said that it was okay. He opened the case and remove the battery. After that he tried to dry it by using a towel. I left it with him and continue playing at the beach. When we got back to the hotel, my father ask for some uncooked rice to the receptionist and the room boy delivered it to our room. My father pour the rice in a bowl and buried my camera in it. He said that this treatment was necessary if any of your electronic devices was accidentally plunged into the water. Hero of The Day

This story happen three days ago. At that moment I was hanging out with my friends in shopping malls. We were about to go to the cinema, when suddenly I heard a child was crying.
I looked around me but I saw no one. When I walked for about five steps, I looked to the left and I saw a little girl was standing in front of an escalator. I tried to approached her and asked her why she was crying. She said nothing but staring downstairs. I stood up and looked downstairs, it was her mother trying so hard running on an escalator to go upstairs to get the little girl. But it was a useless effort because she didn’t realize that she was actually running upstairs on an escalators which went downstairs. I believe it was because she was so nervous at the moment and the only thing she was thinking was to get to her little girl ASAP.
I made a quick decision right away. I hold the hand of the little girl gently and I said “come on, come with me, I will take you to your mom”. She said nothing but she opened up her arm to me so that I can hug her and cary her on my chest. I said from upstairs to her mom “don’t worry, I’ll get her to you”, and then I stepped on the escalators and walked down as fast as I can and give the little girl to

her mother. Her mother was so happy that she didn’t say anything but smile to me. I smile to her too and said, “everything is okay now”. Buying stuff online could be dangerous for us if we didn’t do it carefully. As we bought it through the internet, so we could not see or touch the item before it was arrived to our address. My experience was one of the proof that insurance is really important when you wanted to purchase something on the internet.
I really wanted to buy a new android phone by using my salary from Google Adsense. So, I decided to try to do it online. I typed on google the brand of the android phone that I want and some website or as we called it today “online shop” showed up on the search list. I chose one of the website that I consider to be the most famous of all and then I clicked the link. It brought me to the web page.
I saw so many types and series of the brand that I was looking for and I sorted it by its price from the lowest to the highest price. This way, I could chose one that would fit my budget. Finally, I found one. I like the design, color and also the specification, and the price was just as I expected. So I hit the “buy now” button and it brought me to the payment section where I had to choose the payment method that I want. I chose to pay the item through Bank transfer, and the website gave me the total amount that I had to transfer along with the bank account details where I had to transfer the money to. I put all the details on my note and I went to ATM machine to transfer the money.
When I got back from the ATM, I took a photo of the transfer receipt and uploaded it to the website as payment proof so that my order could be process right away. After that I had to wait for three days until the item was arrived at my address. When the item was arrived, I opened up the box and took the smartphone out. I tried to turn it on by pressing the power buton several times but nothing happened, and I realized that the phone was broken. Luckily I had the insurance paper stated that I can return the phone and get my money back if the phone was broken. So I sent it back to the company, and got all of my money back.
When I was in Junior High School, I joined a cooking contest in my school. It was my first time to join a competition and it was my first time to cook by myself. There were 45 participants of the contest and all of our parents were there to watch the process.
I already decided that I want to make fried rice. So I started by peeling off the garlic and shallot. After that I chopped them into a very small pieces and then put it on a small plate. I also sliced two stalks of red chilli and put them together in the small plate. When the preparation was complete, I started cooking.
I put the frying pan on the stove. I placed a tablespoon full of margarine on the frying pan and then I turned on the stove. When the margarine was starting to melt I add chilli sauce into the frying pan and then I whisk it by using the spatula. When I could smell the nice aroma of the margarine and chilli sauce, I add a tablespoon of oyster sauce and all spices that I put on the small plate earlier into the frying pan and whisk all of them for only 10 seconds. After that I add a plate full of rice into the frying pan and whisk all of them until the spices and the rice mix perfectly. At the end, I add a small amount of soy sauce and salt into it and mix them to the fried rice. I served my fried rice on a large plate and I add a fried egg and some chips to make it beautiful. Last night I was alone at home because all of my family went to cinema. I was the only one who didn’t want to go with them for one reason, I already watched the movie with my friend last week. Suddenly there was a blackout in the neighborhood, it was so quiet and so dark, and a little bit creepy.

I was laying on the couch when the blackout happened. The first thing I did was grabbing my cell phone and turn it on. I was lucky that I had a flashlight function on my phone, so I turned it on and use it to light the room. I tried to find a candle in the cabinet and I found one. I lit the candle and place it on a small plate. After that I put the candle on the table so the light can spread all over the room. Then I went to my room and took my blanket and went back to the couch where I stayed and waited for my family to return home. I covered all of my body with my blanket and hide underneath it because I was scared.

Jacques is very keen on water sports. He likes sailing and he spends a lot of time on his boat. He enjoys scuba diving, too, and loves exploring life under sea.
All in all, I’m glad to have Jacques as my friend. It’s a pleasure to be with him and I really enjoy his company. I’m sure we’ll always be close friends.
I live with my little family. It consist of four members, there are my father, my mother, my older brother, and of course I as the youngest family member.
My mother is middle-aged woman, now she is about 48 years old. Her name is Mrs. Khomariyah. She has beautiful face and black long straight hair. Her eyes just like ordinary Asian woman, black. She is a bit fat because she rarely does exercise as a busy housewife. However, she can manage her dress well, so he can keep looking good on all her dress.
My father is Mr. Jono, he is about 51 years old. Although now he isn’t young anymore but his hair still looks pretty good in black with few grey hairs. His eyes are black like most Asian, especially Indonesian people. He is relatively tall compared to all the family members, about 168cm. He is working on local wood manufacture as the manager. He works hard for his family. Sometimes he also makes tasty meal when my mother isn’t home. I love his cooking, especially the fried rice, it’s just like the yummiest fried rice I have ever tasted.

Then the next family member is my older brother, he is Wahyu Budi. Now, he is 23 years old. Just like my parent, my brother also has black eyes and black straight hair. He is taller than me, he is as tall as my father. He is quite smart, diligent, and helpful person. Now he continues his study in learning English and he hope someday can be a good teacher.
All of my family, but me, can speak both Javanese and Sundanese fluently. We had been lived in Bandung, precisely in Leuwiliang for about 6 years. Unfortunately we had to move to Surabaya for some reasons when I was 2 years old. So, if they’re talking in Sundanese I have no idea what they are talking about. Now, we have to live our life in here, my beloved city Surabaya. My mother is a quite pretty woman. She has a proportional appearance; she isn’t tall but not too short for about 155cm. Her hair is long, a bit wavy and its color is black. She has black eyes and light brown skin. When she smiles, she looks prettier.
She is known as a nice people by people around her. She is also attractive, smart, friendly, and always try to help people around. I love her very much because she is a living figure to me to be a good person. My mom love listening to the music, especially Dangdut. Whenever she cooks in the kitchen, she always listens to the Dangdut music and sings along with it.
She is a complete person, a good mother and wife. Every day, she takes care of us with all of her warmth love. She manages the house well, keeps it clean and in good order. She doesn’t like if any stuff in our house misplaced, everything has to be where it should be placed and don’t mess around.
She spreads her smile all the time to everyone. With the smile on her face, she looks gorgeous. Behind her beauty, she is a great woman for my family. She is strong woman who help her family whenever we face a problem. Best mom ever who give all her love for her family.
My father is Yayan Hariadi. Now he is about 43 years old. My father is a good-looking person with his ideal appearances. His nose is pointed. He has thick eyebrows and oval shaped face. Her skin is dark brown since he spends a lot of time working in the field. He has strong arms and legs because he does such heavy work routinely.
He is a farmer. He manages his farm well. He plants a lot of vegetables, such as cucumber, tomato, chili, and also rice. Since we live in a good place to plant many vegetables, my father doesn’t meet any difficulties in getting a good corp. Even though many people underestimate such profession but I’m proud of him. Without farmers who produce a plenty of food to support the people, there will be a lot of people who suffer in starvation.
One of my father’s hobbies is fishing. He likes to spend a couple hours jus for waiting a fish catches his bait. Most people think it is boring, but for my father it’s like the best activity to do in his spare time. Besides that, my father love listening to the music. Traditional music is a genre he likes most, such as Campursari and Tayub. He also likes traditional puppet show or called “Wayang Kulit”. He loves local cultures. He ever said that local culture is our identity; if we lost it then we lost our identity.
He is a great man for me and my family. He can be a good father and sometimes he can take mom’s part when she is outside such as prepare the lunch, clean and manages the house. He can also be a good friend for his children. The best part when I have a conversation with him is he always can make fun joke, and that always make me laughing so hard.
I have an older brother, his name is Wahyu Riskianto. I and my older brother have couple things in common. Both of us have short straight hair. My brother and I also have the same a bit round

shaped face, thin eyebrows, and black eyes' color. We both have a bit tanned skin since we like to play football together. With all those similarities plus the fact that we are just 4 years different, no wonder if many people think that we are twin.
My brother is an introvert person. He doesn’t talk too much to any person who doesn’t close enough to him. Most of his time, he spends to learn and train his skill in his hobby. He loves painting and drawing picture. Usually he draws caricature or beautiful view. I like his artworks, it is pretty colorful and attractive.
My brother is a patient and kind person, especially to me. He always helps me when I have a problem. He is quite smart person also. So, when I find some trouble in doing my school tasks, like mathematic or science, I always ask for his help. We also like to spend the time together by playing game. In short, he is the best brother in the world to me.
My little sister is Rika Suci Wardhani. I usually call her Aci. As a little girl she is very cute and adorable. The next two month she will be 5. She is the youngest of three siblings. She is a little bit fat and has chubby cheeks. She has long black and a bit wavy hair. Her eyes' color are black too and her skin is light brown. With her wide-opened eyes and chubby cheek, she makes every person want to pinch her adorable cheeks.
My sister is an active girl, she always playing all day long. Usually she plays doll with her friends. She is a kind girl, so no wonder if she has a lot of friends. She also feels curious about anything new to her, such as asking what does the sign on the street means or how rainbow happens. Sometimes all of her questions are annoying for me, but I know she is going to grow to be a smart girl. She loves to eat, especially candy and snack. That’s why she has those chubby cheeks. She likes most all food, but her favorite one is fried chicken. My mother often cooks it for her. I love my little sister very much because she is the only one annoying cute girl in my family.

  38. “Memories, like the corners of my mind” Cynthia cooed softly to Jack.

“Misty water coloured memories, of the way we were.

Cynthia knew she was playing with fire, The matron had warned her many times before.

“You haven’t time to be singing to them my dear, there’s work to be done” The voice still resonated through her head like an echo. She had been suspended from duties for a week just a few months back, accused of not doing her duties, but she had always made sure her tasks were completed before she sang to her patients. Even while on suspension she still came in on her own time to sing to those that it made such a difference to.

The smile on Jacks face alone, made it all worthwhile. She was well aware that this one song, “The way we were” was special to Jack.

Cynthia had been nursing at ‘Clarendon Grange’ Home for the aged, for nearly three years, after spending 15 years working at various hospitals. This was by far the most rewarding position she had held.

“Cynthia Mulvaney get back to work this instance” The voice made Cynthia jump, but it was followed by Raucous laughter as she realised it was her colleague Annie doing another of her impressions.

    ReplyDelete
  39. “Oh Annie, you frightened me, one day you’ll get caught out, and then I will be the one laughing at you”. Annie was Cynthia’s best friend here, at Clarendon Grange. They had hit off right from the start. Annie sometimes covered for Cynthia while she spent time with Jack, indeed she was the only one that knew the real reason for Cynthia being at this particular nursing home. The reputation of the aged care home was not particularly good, And with Cynthia’s age and experience, she could have worked at much better places.

Jack started to laugh along with the two women, but the dementia that had taken over his mind, didn’t allow him to understand why. Jacks laughter just brought on more laughter from the two women. The moment was broken by a booming voice echoing up the corridor.

“What is going on here? Its time the lights were out in Room 18, that old person needs their sleep. And you Cynthia Mulvaney are treading on very thin ice”

Cynthia was seething, she gently let go of Jacks hand as she rose from the bed.

She entered the corridor which acted like an echo tunnel, especially when Matrons voice was in use!

Cynthia felt compelled to stand up for Jack, and herself. “If you don’t mind, this gentleman’s name is Jack William Dawson, not Room 18 and it is only eight thirty pm. Jack will get to sleep when feels like it, not when you decide it for him”

Cynthia knew by the expression on Matrons face what was coming next.

“My office immediately” barked Matron, Cynthia turned to re enter Jacks room, and walked slowly to his bedside. She bent to put the worn photo album back into Jacks hand, and walked silently out of the room.

Cynthia looked Matron in the eye, those non descript coloured eyes, not brown, not hazel, not even green, somewhere in between. The Grey plaited bun on the top of her head, was suited well to her personality.

“Singing to the patients just upsets them for the next shift, and it’s not you that has to deal with their difficult ways, you should have more respect for your fellow workers. Matron spoke, Cynthia noticed a slight crackle in the ageing voice

  40. “I am in there learning one of the most valuable lessons that nature could bestow upon humanity, I am making a lonely old man very happy. The lesson that is teaching me is far greater than any lesson you could teach me. And it really wouldn’t hurt you to learn the same lesson” Cynthia took another deep breath.

“ I hope that when it is your turn, when you are in exactly the same position as that darling old man in there, and it will be you one day. Only the loneliness will be for a different reason. I hope that on that day, somebody will sing to you”

Cynthia couldn’t ever remember feeling so strong as the Matron stood there speechless.

“Sadly” she continued, “It won’t be me, I no longer wish to work for you. However you won’t stop me doing what I do, I will be here every day in a voluntary capacity singing to ‘my family’”

With that said, Cynthia turned and crept back into Jacks room. As she returned to her position, Jack opened his eyes, one last time. Cynthia wondered with some hope if there was just a spark of recognition within those beautiful blue eyes. As she gazed into them, she noticed the fear was gone, replaced with a look of peace.

Cynthia took hold of his hand again, only this time it didn’t grip hers. There was no strength left, she stroked the back of the frail old hand, with her thumb, and noticed for the first time how similar their hands were, the length of the fingers, the pattern of wrinkles on the knuckles, the lines on the palms. She did have some of the Dawson traits, in fact, she thought to herself with a smile on her face, she had the very best of them. The fact she was here, sitting by this bed, confirmed that firmly in her mind.

She watched as Jack William Dawson closed his eyes and took his last breath.

And as a single tear rolled down her cheek, Cynthia felt great peace within herself. At peace with her decision not to reveal the truth, the real reason she chose Clarendon Grange as her final place of employment before retiring.

As she dabbed with a tissue at her own blue eyes, she picked up the well worn leather bound album of memories and pressed it close to her heart, after all it would be hers now. Cynthia closed her eyes, to take the opportunity to reflect on years gone by. Most of the years were filled with happiness, just the last few, when Jack no longer recognized his only daughter, his only remaining child.

  42. Hope Can Sometimes Come In Small Packages - “Close the gate Bob, that’s the last of the stragglers”. The slamming of a prison gate never failed to make me jump no matter how many times I heard it. Why was it they put your nearest and dearest in the farthest prisons they could find? Isle of Wight was where they put him. I swore under my breath, I hate this place, stinking, dirty place. And the fact that it took over four hours to get here has not endeared me to it at all.

I had to pick up the coach from Victoria Station, so early in the morning I don’t think the birds were up – just an eerie silence as dark night changed into daylight. Travelling to the Isle of Wight Prison you just know who is going to the prison and who isn’t, you can even tell who is working there. Some of them have that smug look; you know the one; there but for the grace of God go I. I always wanted to smack that look right off their smug little faces. But it wouldn’t help me or my Dad and anyway what’s done is done.

Yes my Dad, or Pater, as he jokingly liked to be called might soon be helping out her Majesty with a bit of sewing, again. Yes he is banged up again, on remand I know, but not once has he not been sentenced when he has been caught. The old lag. For what you might ask? For being stupid enough to think he could fence a diamond. I don’t know who was stupider him or the person who trusted him.

“Have your ID ready please”. The guard was nice enough, looked quite young though, admittedly he didn’t look much older than my Darren. I smothered a smile as I showed him my ID, there was no need for a Visiting Order this time. I wouldn’t need it unless Dad was convicted.

My stomach tightened as I walked past the wardens, why was it I always felt guilty when I hadn’t done anything. Perhaps it comes from being around too many guilty people. I didn’t want to be searched, not even a little bit, but I knew that it was to be expected. I looked around the visiting area – people of every description and walk of life. No favourites in prison, everyone gets treated the same on visiting day. There in the corner with a huge grin on his face was my Dad.

“Hello Mel darling”, he said waving frantically, “over here”. As if I hadn’t seen him! Gosh he really knows how to embarrass me.

“Hello love,” my Dad said giving me one of his huge dad-like hugs, “how’s your mum and the kids”.

Dad always called them the kids even though Sally was 12 and our Steven nearly 14. Me, I was just 16 but felt and looked so much older; worry does that to you.

    ReplyDelete
  43. “Fine Dad”. I looked at him and smiled, prison never did change my dad. He had been in so many times most of the prison staff knew him and as well as some of the prisoners who were doing a long stretch.

My Dad bent his head conspiratorially towards me “Mel, I’ve got something to tell you. Promise you won’t tell anyone? Promise me Mel.” I raised my eyebrows, my dad was one of the biggest jokers I knew and this time wasn’t any different. “Mel, I stole a Jammy Dodger from one of the prison guards”, he spluttered. His raucous and infectious laugh carried around the room raising a smile on some of the more despondent faces. “That’s better, I’m not dead love and no-one is going to hang me love. Don’t worry.”

I got up quickly not daring myself to speak to him. “I’ll get some teas in”, I muttered. Dad was still laughing to himself when I got back.

I glared at him “Dad, when will you stop treating life as one big joke. I do worry about you. I worry about mum, the kids. How is she going to cope this time? You know she’s pregnant again. Don’t you ever think of anyone but yourself?”

His face fell and I felt like the consultant who had just informed someone that they had terminal cancer and that there was nothing anyone could about it. And worse still they only had months to live. “Dad, dad” I said gently. “How is mum going to cope?

He sighed and I saw his huge loveable face look crestfallen. I thought he was going to cry. “I did it for mum love. You know she’s my life, my everything. I thought this time it would all work out but someone grassed me up”

“Grassed you up Dad, what do you mean?” To grass someone up, to tell the old bill was not something anyone I knew would do. It was actually like putting a nail in your own coffin. Sooner or later someone would get you, well you couldn’t be trusted.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Dad”, I faltered. “How long do you think you’ll get if you go down?”

“It’s hard to tell Mel, but the bloke who did the burglary got a bit heavy handed and the home-owner ended up with a fractured skull. The police know this isn’t my form, they know I don’t do violence. But they have to solve the crime and I fit the bill. Well and truly fitted. Of course they asked me for names, but I can’t do that can I? Never been a grass and never will be.

Even though I didn’t know Darren was going to do a job I remember the night well. I had asked Darren if it was OK if I came round to his. He said yes that would be great. He did my favourite supper and at about 10.00pm said he was tired so he was going up to bed. I must have dozed on the sofa because the next thing Darren was waking me up, bleary eyed I noticed it was about 12.30am. Darren looked as if he had been running and he had changed his clothes. I didn’t say anything to him – he had been in a funny mood all night and I didn’t want to spoil things. I knew something wasn’t right when the police came asking questions. They asked me if Darren had been with me all night and because I love Darren I said yes. But deep down I knew he hadn’t been. Never for one moment did I think my dad was mixed up in this as well. My mouth felt dry, I couldn’t face another drop of tea, I felt I would choke. I ran my tongue around my lips and mouth to give them a well needed moistening.

I didn’t know what to say. My mind was in turmoil. What was I going to do? I could shop Darren and it could mean that my dad received a lesser sentence for only receiving stolen property. But it would also mean that I would lose the love of my life. And if Darren wasn’t convicted and he found out I had shopped him. What would it mean for me...no that’s nonsense. Darren loves me and I know he wouldn’t hurt me but a grass is a grass, and as I said where I come from it’s just done.

I looked up at my dad, a man I truly loved for all his faults and ways. He wasn’t a bad man, stupid sometimes but not bad. How could I let him rot in prison?

“Cheer up Mel; it’s not the end of the world. Look that woman’s bought in her baby to see its dad. See there’s still hope”

I didn’t have the heart to correct my dad. The baby was either a boy or a girl not an it. Mm that’s it. I wouldn’t tell dad about Darren, I wouldn’t tell Darren that I knew about his involvement in the burglary. I’d accept his proposal of marriage and emigrate to wherever he wanted to go. Then I could give Dad his hope. Grandchildren. Dad was going to be in for a very long stretch and I knew that I would need all that time and more for him to forgive me for leaving mum and the kids on their own. Not to mention leaving the country.

  46. I Met Him on the Stairs - I met him on the stairs. I should have waited longer. At first I thought that maybe he hadn’t seen me. He was at the turn of the second floor landing, his hand on the heavy swing door that separated the stairs from the lobby. The lift doors could just be seen through the gap that he had made. Beyond, was his flat. I didn’t want to think of that.

He appeared distracted, his eyes fixed on something I could not see, his head to one side. He looked like he might have been in the process of either coming in or going out. He was waiting for me, of course, but I wasn’t to know that.

The suddenness with which I stopped, along with the rush of adrenalin that caused my stomach to clench, threatened to unbalance me.

He let the door swing back with a bang. I jumped. To retrace my steps was pointless – he already knew that I was there and anyhow, where could I go? It was already past six and mum would do her nut if I was late for dinner again. Strands of part- dried hair snagged inside my sports shirt. I let them be.

“Did you say anything?” The baldness of the question took me by surprise.

    “No.”

    “Where have you been?”

    “Swimming club.”

“Thought so,” eyes flicking to my hair.

  47. I only had one more flight to climb. Shifting my bag higher onto my shoulder, I started forward again past the turn of the stairs where he was standing. The barrier of his arm was sudden – hard against my belly.

Spindles of light from the landing window cast zebra stripes across his face. I couldn’t read his expression.

“Are you sure you didn’t tell?”

“I told you, no!” I was angry with the tears that were pricking my eyes.

Distant street sounds teased through the half open fan light above our heads. The squeak of a wheelie bin and the bump it made as it mounted the curb.

I pushed forward and felt his arm brace. He grabbed my wrist - the pulse beating out a ragged rhythm where his thumb pressed hard into the soft flesh.

“Come over later,” he muttered, hot breath close to my ear.

    “I can’t. I have homework.”

His grip slackened. The forefinger of his other hand traced the curve of my jaw coming to rest on the still damp aertex at the base of my throat.

    “Come over later.”

He knew. Today would be no different.

    “Yes.”

  49. Antara Kau Dan Bola
Suasana ruang kelas rebut sekali waktu aku masuk.

”kalo aja semalem finaltinya mutu” (pemain rumania masuk) udah kalah tu itali, kata joe yang nama aslinya bejo tapi ya biar aga keren panggilannya joe.

”ya gak mungkin lah, liat dulu siapa kipernya,BUFFON.. mana masuk tendangan kaya gitu!”kata irfan yang punya badan paling gede diantara kami.

Rumania tuh semalem cama masih dilindungi dewi fortuna aja” tambahku. Waktu kami masih ngobrol resti Cuma manyun kayanya dia bt banget soalnya dari tadi kami ngebahas masalah bola,

”kok jawabnya gitu sih, masa iya aku lupa sama ceweku sendiri”

Dijalan resti tetep diam aja mulutnya kaya diolesin lem kayu, susah banget dibuka. Sampe depan rumah resti tetap diem. Turun dari motor nyelonong aja, kenapa tuh anak ya...fikirku.”ah bodo amat, besok juga sembuh ngambeknya.

Jam lima sore aku baru nyampe rumah.

Aku langsung masuk kamar mandi. Ah...seger banget rasanya.

Gol.....!!! seketika kami teriak waktu tendangan delpiero gak bisa ditepis kiper perancis. ”sial kalo saya kalah berati saya bayar dong sama kalian, keluh joe murung.

Tet....tet akhirnya bel istirahat pun berbunyi. Bel istirahat jadi penyelamat kami. Eh bukan lebih tepatnya aku...
”semalem nonton bola lagi sampe jam berapa. Resti menegurku
    ”Iya...uh pertandingannya seru banget.”
”Saking serunya kamu lupa sama tugas kamu” yang lebih parah kamu lupa sama aku” Siapa bilang aku lupa sama kamu”
”buktinya, udah dua malam ni kamu gak nelpon aku, bahkan sms aja nggak”
”oh ceritanya kangen nih, aku coba ngerayu dia tapi gak berhasil.
”res masa Cuma gara-gara bola kamu ampe ngambek gni”

Sial aku dicuekin, sekarang dia malah asik ngobrol ama temennya.
”yaudah cepet mau ngomong apa?” gila jutek banget jawabannya. ” aku minta maaf ya soalnya kemarin aku nyuekin kamu. ”gampang banget minta maaf, ada syaratnya”. Uh...kaya nikah aja ada syaratnya.

    ”yaudah apa syaratnya?”

”waduh...mampus nih...joe sekarang tanggal berapa? Tanyaku. Tgl 23 juni, emang kenapa sih panik?

”tadi kan kamu udah bilang iya..emang kenapa sih?

Jam tujuh malam aku langsung meluncur kerumah resti.
    „Yuk pergi, kata resti.
    "kemana, tanyaku heran
”ntar juga tahu,..akhirnya aku ikut aja..duh gimana kalau aku ga sempet ikut nonton bisa nyesel banget aku...
”didepan belok kanan ya..” aku kaya jadi sopir taksi aja.

”ya aku ikut nonton dong,..masa aku diluar kaya satpam.”
    ”Kamu gak marah?’
Aku lega banget, akhirnya resti gak ngambek lagi kalau aku ngomongin bola, malahan skarang kita sering nonton bareng. Bola dan cinta emang bikin aku gila.

  54. Between You And The Ball
Grab the classroom atmosphere once when I entered. So ributnya until kedengeran to the staff room. Luckily, the teachers at the ignorant. Of ramenya I can already guess they must again talking about a ball game last night, I immediately wrote chimed. After chatting it up in full swing math teacher knew it was going to class. Without further ado directly deh talking about the formulas that I do not ever understand.

Only the contents formulas and formulas. I entered this last hour, because I'm really lazy huuh ... listen to teachers, plus my already really heavy to open, there are a lot of really rich who nindihin the eyelid. It's just staying up for Malem was watching the ball, because it comes right EURO four years dilewatin just want to cook. Slowly but surely it's eyes began to shut. Do not care what the teachers say, the eyes are not able to compromise anymore.

I came home from school and resti irvan - my girl - hang diekitar first rubber plantation, there was still talk problem balls.

"Aja kalo semalem finaltinya quality" (Romanian players entered)'ve lost tu italy, said Joe, whose real name bejo but ya let cool aga call joe.

"Yeah not possible lah, who first clay goalkeeper, Buffon .. where the incoming kick so rich! "said Irfan who has the most big body between us.

Tetep silent street resti wrote diolesin rich wood glue his mouth, really hard to open. Front of the house remain until resti diem. Aja wandering off the bike, why tuh ya boy ... fikirku. "Bodo ah heck, tomorrow also recovered ngambeknya.

Five o'clock I nyampe new home. My parents rarely home this late hour. They prefer cool ngurusin of office files on ngurusin home. But I is not never give a damn, leave it they were busy with their affairs.

I went straight into the bathroom. Ah ... it feels really Seger. Time to watch the ball ya, I muttered. I immediately turned off the computer and watching TV, watching the ball really boring Just the same as a cup of coffee at the snack that dumb, can not feel happy if invited to talk and no goals. Or even those bored by Malem accompany me sitting in front of the tv.

Nyampe time school was lonesome. Out of the car I immediately rush lar. Thank God school security guard could disegok two sheets of drawing paper Diponegoro. Escaped from the security guard does not mean free. Class I've greeted by a thick mustache pack, but unfortunately this one man can not be bribed, as a result I can not participate at the first lesson and go BP. I'm the same in that room teacher reprimanded BP being asked why macem-macem until late. After that I dibiarin go, but class is nyiapin pack techno-abreg seabreg task, make lazy school aja .. ***

Goal .....!!! we shouted instantly kick delpiero time can not be pushed over the French goalkeeper. "Damn if I lose my means you pay the same dong, moaned joe moody.

"Yaiyalah period Yaiya dong", I replied in unison with irfan. That night Joe and I invite irfan deliberately nginep bt if my house because I have to watch the ball alone. Damn it, I do not work on the task of Tikno pack again. but today should be collected.

"Res time it happened just because you ball ampe cranky gni"

Damn I was ignored, now he's even cool chat ama his friends. As if I was not there and even if there's just considered a battered radio batrenya already worn out.

"Res, kasian your friend who is already willing to go so we could talk." I
"Yaudah cepet want to say anything?" Crazy jutek really answer. "I'm sorry yes because yesterday I nyuekin you. "Easy really am sorry, there are conditions". Uh ... there are conditions aja rich marriage.
    "Yaudah what condition?"

"If you're not talking about the issue in front of the ball there walo si irfan joe and then you should be mentingn me of my balls .."

ah man that much easier. "ok, .. I'm ready". It's been two weeks after qualified path was made until now still smooth. Tomorrow the plan joe and irfan want nobar disebuah cafe.

"Oh no ... ya ... joe now dead date? I asked. Date 23 June, weve why the hell panic? "This tuh resti his birthday, I forgot slamat not give utterance to her. "It is usually too late" said Irfan.

Then there is incoming sms surprised tuh make it .. "You have violated the terms that I already make. You mentingin ball more than me ...! I still kepikiran home, weve still ga anything but if we break up how? Yes weve girl a lot but there are rich resti ga.

  57. Asam Manis Kisah Di Balik My Diary
SMA Tunas Bangsa sih, SMA favorit ketika ku lihat jam jarum pendek sudah menuju angka 7 ku ikat tali sepatuku membentuk pita sesuai dengn namaku pita.

    ReplyDelete

Hidupku memang sederhana namun aku tak ingin miskin perasaan aku mencoba kaya perasaan. Karna Allah tidak suka manusia seperti laura

  59. Once upon a time there was a farmer who owned a little dog that he keeps constantly by his side and a donkey, which lived in a warm stable and got plenty of fresh grain and sweet hay. But, unfortunately the donkey was not satisfied with his condition.

"I slave all day long, hauling wood or pulling the cart to market while the dog sleeps on the master's lap and eats from his plate!," the donkey grumbled. "Perhaps, he thought, if he behaved like the dog, his master would reward him with the same life of ease.

That very night, the donkey crept out of the stable and into the house where the farmer sat at supper. "First I'll frisk about and chase my tail, just as the dog does," thought the donkey. And he danced about the room, flinging up his hooves until the table toppled over and dishes went flying
