Kita menyadari bahwa binatang terbesar yang ada di bumi adalah ikan paus, binatang ini diciptakan oleh Allah SWT dengan ukuran fisik yang sangat luar biasa besarnya. Maha Suci Allah Sang Penguasa alam semesta ini. Manusia terkadang kurang begitu mensyukuri nikmat, bahkan tidak mampu menjaga keseimbangan alam, sedangkan sekelompok orang melakukan tindakan perusakan alam. termasuk memburu ikan paus. Peran ikan paus sangat besar, misalnya kotoran ikan paus bisa menyuburkan kehidupan/biota laut itu sendiri, sedangkan keberadaan ikan paus juga mampu menciptakan keseimbangan mata rantai makanan dalam ekosistem laut.

Terdapat jenis ikan paus yang secara fisik sangat besar, bahkan terbesar yaitu blue whale atau paus biru. Perbandingannya dengan binatang lainnya sungguh nyata perbedaannya dalam size atau ukuran.
