Beberapa hari kedepan pelajar dijenjang SMA/MA/SMK sederajat akan menghadapi ulangan tengah semester, respon dan tanggapan bervariasi muncul dari mereka. Bagi yang suka dengan belajar dan mengejar prestasi maka momen ini ditanggapi dengan positif. Sungguh-sungguh dalam belajar, mempersiapkannya sudah jauh-jauh hari bahkan rutinitas belajar sudah dilakukannya. Sebaliknya bagi kalangan pelajar yang tidak tertarik dengan prestasi merespon dengan biasa-biasa saja, toh hanya sekedar ulangan tengah semester sehingga mereka melakukan aktivitas seperti biasanya yaitu tanpa belajar. Ada sebagian kecil pelajar yang terkenal sangat nakal sehingga justru memanfaatkan momen itu untuk masuk sekolah artinya dia masuk ke sekolah hanya ketika ulangan saja sedangkan sehari-harinya dia membolos entah di kantin sekolah ataupun nogkrong di tempat lain. Kesadaran belajar dimiliki bagi siapa saja yang suka dengan target dan cita-cita tinggi. Dia tidak takut kecewa jika gagal, justru dengan target yang tinggi dia tertantang, memunculkan gairah, bahkan terkadang tanpa sadar dia berada pada trek yang bagi orang kebanyakan adalah hal yang mustahil. Mampu meluangkan 1 jam dari 24 jamnya setiap hari dengan ketulusan dan kesadaran penuh, menggunakannya untuk membaca, menulis, diskusi, belajar, dan mencari informasi baru tanpa henti. Mampu mengatur dan mengelola hidupnya secara detil dan rapi sangat membantu menyusun tangga-tangga menuju jalan keberhasilan. Jika kita menanamkan sikap kerja keras dalam diri kita maka kita akan menuai keberhasilan yang besar. Apalagi jika mampu istiqomah dalam melakukan kerja keras tersebut maka kemenangan mampu diraih dengan gemilang.
Tak beda dengan ujian sekolah, hidup juga memiliki ujiannya sendiri. Hanya bentuk soal dan pengawasan, penilaian dan remedial tidak benar-benar formal dilakukan. Namun ujian hidup itu konsekuensinya lebih nyata dirasakan. Sifat kepribadian dari manusia itulah yang mempengaruhi mereka menghadapi tantangan dan ujian hidup. Sikap positif seperti jujur, optimis, pantang menyerah, tahan banting, keterbukaan, pemaaf, suka membantu, rendah hati, merupakan contoh-contoh sifat pribadi yang sedikit banyak melancarkan jalan dalam menghadapi ujian hidup. Dibalik sifat-sifat itu semua pada dasarnya manusia memahami fananya dunia itu adalah ladang untuk masa/waktu di akhirat yang kekal. Iman dalam hati memenuhi keteguhan jiwa dalam menjalankan perintah Tuhannya dan meringankan langkah kaki ketika menuju kebaikan. Hal inilah kondisi ideal yang tercipta ketika ujian itu datang menerpa manusia. Saat-saat kritis dan genting dengan adanya iman dalam hati, manusia lari pada Sang Pencipta dan menyandarkan dirinya, menghamba serta memohon kekuatan agar mampu merengkuh dan melewati rintangan ujian hidup tersebut. Adanya iman terhadap hari akhir pula menjadikan senyum lebar dan tulus menghiasi wajah, meski di depannya terpampang bahaya ujian hidup. Kapankah saat yang membuat manusia merasa diperlakukan adil oleh Tuhan? Yaitu ketika yaumul mizan. Segala amal akan ditimbang seadil-adilnya tanpa ada yang dirugikan. Memangnya ada manusia yang merasa diperlakukan tidak adil oleh Tuhan? Mungkin pembaca mampu menjawab sendiri pertanyaan tersebut.
