Apabila ada orang yang bertele-tele ketika berbicara pada kita, mungkin saja bagi orang yang tidak sabar akan merasa geregetan. Sabar, ya sabar, dan santai saja, karena mungkin saja orang tersebut memang memiliki keterbatasan dalam memberi penjelasan terhadap suatu hal pada lawan bicaranya. Jadi, bukan keinginan sendiri untuk berbicara bertele-tele, atau tiada maksud hati untuk membuat orang yang diajak bicara menjadi geregetan.
Langsung, tidak langsung, merupakan salah satu poin materi dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris. Tetapi hal ini jauh dari kesan ngomong bertele-tele, melainkan tentang aspek sudut pandang orang yang berbicara. Kalimat langsung atau kalimat yang diucapkan langsung oleh si pembicara disebut Direct Speech. Sedangkan kalimat tidak langsung disebut Indirect Speech. Keduanya memiliki perbedaan dalam beberapa hal, baik secara redaksional penulisannya maupun dari penggunaan tenses (jenis waktu) sampai pada penggunaan kata keterangan (adverb).

== The teacher told to the students that he would ask them to make a love letter the following week.
B. YES/NO QUESTIONS
•DIRECT

•INDIRECT
== Mrs. Imani asked me if I planned to go to Tajur village with my friends the following
month.
C. QUESTION WORDS
•DIRECT

•INDIRECT
== Mr. Taufik asked Imani why she wanted hold Camping the following summer.
D. COMMAND & PROHIBITION
•DIRECT
== Mr. Ridho told the students, “keep practicing dancing Gambyong
dance!”
