Kamu Mau Ngapain Sih? Mau Ujian Sekolah?

Berusaha mati-matian agar mampu bertanding secara all out.

  2. Miss Crow has stolen a big piece of cheese, and flew away on to a branch to enjoy it. A sly fox, who wanted the cheese for himself, came up and spoke politely to her.
“Oh, Miss Crow, how beautiful you are! What a lovely beak, what a lovely feathers you have! What pretty eyes! If only you could sing, you would be the most beautiful bird in the world.
Very pleased to hear all of this abut herself, Miss Crow gave a loud croak to show that she could sing. Of course, the moment she opened her beak, the cheese fell down, and Mr. Fox ran away with it, laughing loudly.

    The Lion and The Mouse

Once when a lion was asleep, a little mouse began running up and down upon him; this soon awoke the lion, who placed his huge paw upon him, and open his big jaws to swallow him. “Pardon, O king,” cried the little mouse, “Forgive me this time, I shall never forget it; perhaps I may be able to do you a good turn some of these days.”
The lion was so tickled at the idea of the mouse being able to help him. Then, he lifted up his paw and let him go.

Sometime after, the lion was caught in a trap. Some hunters, who wanted to carry him alive to the King, tied him to a tree while they went in search of a wagon to carry him in. Just then, the little mouse happened to pass by and see the sad plight in which the lion was. The little mouse went up to him and soon gnawed away the ropes that bounded the king of the beasts. Soon after the little mouse had finished gnawing away the ropes, he asked the lion to run away.

  3. The Hen with the Silver Eggs

One day, in an Arabian city, a woman went to the market and bought a beautiful hen. A few days later to her surprise the hen she bought laid a silver egg. If the hen could only be persuaded to lay more than one egg each day, the woman was sure she would never have to work again.
So the woman decided to make the hen eat more, so that it could lay more eggs. But the only result was that the hen died of indigestion and did not lay more eggs at all.

    Malin Kundang

Long time ago, in a small village near the beach in West Sumatera, lived a woman and her son, Malin Kundang. Malin Kundang's father had passed away when he was a baby, and he had to live hard with his mother. Malin Kundang was a healthy, diligent, and strong child. He usually went to the sea to catch fish, and brought it to his mother, or sold it in the town.
One day, when Malin Kundang was sailing as usual, he saw a merchant's ship which was being raided by a small band of pirates. With his brave and power, Malin Kundang defeated the pirates. The merchant was so happy and asked Malin Kundang to sail with him. Malin Kundang agreed. Many years later, Malin Kundang became a wealthy merchant, with a huge ship, loads of trading goods, many ship crews, and a beautiful wife. In his journey, his ship landed on a beach. The villagers recognized him, and the news ran fast in the town: Malin Kundang became a rich man and now he is here. His mother, in deepful sadness after years of loneliness, ran to the beach to meet her beloved son again.
When the mother came, Malin Kundang, in front of his well-dressed wife, its crews and his own glories, denied meeting that old, poor and dirty woman. For three times she begged Malin Kundang and for three times yelled at him. At last Malin Kundang said to her "Enough, old woman! I have never had a mother like you, a dirty and ugly peasant!" Then he ordered his crews to set sail.

Enraged, she cursed Malin Kundang that he would turn into a stone if he did not apologize. Malin Kundang just laughed and set sail. In the quiet sea, suddenly a thunderstorm came. His huge ship was wrecked and it was too late for Malin Kundang to apologize. He was thrown by the wave out of his ship, fell on a small island, and suddenly turned into stone.

Once upon a time there were two sisters. One of them was rich but had no children, while the other was a poor widow who had five children.
One day, the poor widow no longer had enough food to satisfy herself and her children. In her need, therefore, she went to her sister and said, “My children and I are suffering the greatest hunger. You are my beloved sister and you are rich. Please give a mouthful of bread.”
The very rich sister was too stingy to give some food to her sister and said, “I myself have nothing in the house,” and she drove away her sister with harsh words.
After some time, the husband of the rich sister came home and was just going to cut himself a piece of bread. When he made the first cut into the loaf, out flowed red blood.
When the maid saw that, she was very terrified and told him what his wife had done to the poor widow. After hearing the maid’s story, the husband hurried away to help the poor widow and her children. But when he entered the widow’s room, he found her praying. She had her two youngest children in her arms and the three eldest were lying dead. He offered her food, but she refused it and answered, “We no longer have a desire for earthly food. God has already satisfied the hunger of the three of us, and He will listen to our supplications likewise.”
After she uttered these words, the two little ones drew their last breath. Five second later, the poor widow sank down and died.

TOCK! TOCK! Tahanan kecil itu mematuk dalam cangkangnya.

“Apakah aku salah menghitung telurnya?” Ibu Bebek bertanya-tanya.

  6. A very long time ago, there was a poor and blind man named Shim. He lived only with his wife. They neither had daughter nor son and there no day went past without praying to the spirits for the miracle of a child. Then, their prayers were granted, and his wife gave birth a gorgeous daughter named Shimchong. Unfortunately, their happiness did not last long. His wife died after giving birth. Thus, Shim raised up his daughter by himself. The days went by, and Shimchong grew into a beautiful young woman, loved to her father.

One day, Shim was going to somewhere alone. When he walked across a field, he fell into a deep ditch that was used as an irrigation channel to bring water to the fields. He tried to climb into the surface. But, still, the more he struggled, the more he slid back again into the ditch. He was so sad and thought that he would die. The only thing he could do was bemoaning for his blindness until a voice spoke to him from the surface.

  7. One day, a fisherman found the giant lotus blossom on the edge of a river. It was so beautiful and the fishermen decided to make it as a gift to the King of the land. The King himself was so currently desperate in deep mourning after his queen death till finally stopped when he saw the lotus flower. He thanked the fishermen for giving him a beautiful flower and gave some gold to the fishermen. The flower was set in his room. Thus, whenever he felt sad, he would look at the flower and admire it.

One thing the King did not know was that in everynight, when it became so dark, Shimcong could go out from the lotus flower and walk around the palace. But, at the first light, she would go back into the flower.

The secret was not revealed till the King found a beautiful woman in his room. It was the night when the King could no slept and he decided to open the curtain to let the moonlight came and accompanied him in the dark. When the curtain was opened, he turned back and met the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.

Istrinya meninggal setelah melahirkan.

    New Year Holiday Story
The last school holiday, I spent the time with my family on vacation to a relative's house in Madiun, approximately 6 hour trip by bus from our home in Malang.
On the way there, we saw many beautiful views such as rice fields, mountains, etc. Having arrived at the uncle's house, we were greeted by our relatives who had not met us for a long time. The next day, we walked around the town of Madiun until the sky got dark. Finally we decided to go home at 6:00 p.m. on that day.
On the next day, I forgot that it was the New Year. Sudenly, one of my cousins came and asked me to celebrate the New Year's Eve together. At night, I went together with him to the center of the city of Madiun which had already been so crowded because a lot of people who also wanted to celebrate the New Year with his family. When the countdown arrived, the sky which was dark at once then became so colorfully decorated by fireworks. We prayed together and watched the fireworks lightening the sky that night.
Suddenly, the holiday passed quickly. The last New Year's holiday experience in the city Holiday in Sari Ringgung Beach
Last holiday, I went to Sari Ringgung beach in Pesawaran, Lampung. I went there with my family. We left for the beach from my grandparents home in Tanggamus at 08.00 a.m. We went there by car. We arrived in the beach at 10:00 a.m.
In Sari Ringgung beach, I swam with my brothers and my sisters. After swimming, we play sand together. We made a fort, houses, and hills of sand. After being satisfied playing on the beach, we then took a bath and ate the roasted corn while drinking coconut water. After being fresh anymore, we continued to view seascape on boats.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere in the beach. After having fun for about five hours, finally we returned home. Before reaching home, we rested beforehand and ate meatball on the side of the road. The meatball is so tasty that I ate two bowls of The Last School Semester Holiday
The last semester holiday was a moment that I'd been waiting for. Because as long as I sit in ninth grade, I was spending more time to learn than doing some activities associated with my hobby.
My last holiday was classified as a very simple holiday. I was only at home for doing my hobbies such as writing, drawing, and visiting my friends’ house. On the first day until the fifth day I spent time with writing some short stories, chatting with family, and painting some objects at home.
Then in the following days, I visited my friends’ home to study and to do fun things together. Having finished studying, we then cycled around the area to see new things together. After being tired of cycling, we took visit at other friends’ house while fulfilling the thirst. Every time the day got dark, we went back to our homes to spend time with family

Those days were very enjoyable for me. Although I only spent holiday at home by doing funny things, spending time with family, and visiting my friends’ home while studying, I really enjoyed that short holiday.

It was a tiring day, but we were very happy, because we got a lot of fun together there.

    raveling to Bajul Mati Beach
Last week, I and my family had a vacation to the beach because I and my little brother were having school holiday. This holiday was also a gift because two days before my little brother celebrated his birthday.
The clock was still at 4:56 am, but I and my family had been ready to go to Bajul Mati beach since the distance from our house to the beach is about 3 hours. We went there by car. In the car, there were me, my sister, my father and mother. We were not allowed to bring mobile phones by our father and mother in order to enjoy more the trip and the holiday itself. To spend the time on the way I played "guess the name by the letter" with my brother who is only two years younger than me.
Two hours had passed quickly and we began to enter the hilly area. We began to pay attention the sights seriously. We were fascinated to see paddy fields which looked so beautiful and green. After a while, we finally arrived at Bajul Mati beach. This beach is located in Malang, East Java. While enjoying the sea breeze, we ate together first. We can not stop being amazed at the beauty of this beach. Bajul Mati beach has not been well-known enough, so there were not many visitors there. But the beach was still so clean and brought us comfort.
We could not bear to play at the beach, so after having meal together we directly ran toward the seashore. We ignored mom’s words telling us to put on sunblock first. It felt fresh when the sea water reached our feet. We decided to swim in the estuary because the current was calm unlike those in the ocean. We had been swimming for about 15 minutes, before our father called and sent us to the seashore while our mother just took picture on us with his camera.
Suddenly, it was already at 12 o’clock, mom and dad took us to clean ourselves. After that, we prayed Zuhur together. The event was followed by enjoying the warm meatballs in a stall on the beach, which was very delicious. Eating warm meatball while seeing the beauty of the beach was so much fun.
On the way home, I and my little brother fell asleep. When we woke up, we were already at home. This holiday was really fun. I can not wait to go to the sea with my father, my mother and my younger brother in the upcoming holiday. I went back to sleep until the morning because we were still exhausted.

The First Day of Holiday at Grandparents’ Home in the Village
I was so happy because last semester, I got good scores. My pleasure increased because during a week, I spent the holiday at grandparents’ home in Wlingi.
I arrived at their home Sunday morning at around 10.00. My grandmother is the best; she had finished preparing my favorite food when I just arrived at her home. Noticing my favorite food which was already on the table, of course I was immediately fascinated. Yes, my grandmother usually cooks my favorite food (chicken rendang) when I take a visit to her home, there is a large family reunion and lebaran. Perhaps, my grandmother cooked the chicken rendang for se felt so pleased knowing my plan to spend the holiday here, because we had not seen nearly 8 months at that time.

Having finished eating, I told him my experiences at school. They were very happy to know that my semester report’s scores were good. Next, I decided to move towards my favorite place in the grandmother's house which was in the porch. In front of grandma's house there are a wide football field and a tall banyan tree. Around this field, there are still so many paddy fields, which looked so green at that time. It was in contrast to the area in which I live where its field is getting narrower from year to year because it is closed to build housing.
The beautiful scenery accompanied by the breezes that blow caused me sleepy. I didn’t know since what time I had fallen asleep in the porch until Ashar praying time was coming.
After praying Ashar, I went to my family's rice field together with my grandparents which is located about 400 meters from the house. I was so amazed to see the rice terraces getting yellow which was so beautiful. Grandpa said that it was likely that our paddy could be harvested the day after”. He promised that he would take me to see the harvesting of paddy. Of course I approved the promise, and I couldn’t bear for two days after that day. I had already imagined how fun this activity would be. Even I had estimated how many sacks of rice we would get after harvesting.
    • Days seemed to run very fast there. I didn’t feel that it had already been night. We just stayed at home because of the heavy rain outside. The ambiance was so warm when my grandmother prepared us STMJ (Susu = Milk, Telur= Egg, Madu= Honey, Jahe= Ginger) which is my and my grandfather’s favorite beverage.
We ended the funny day with drowsiness coming suddenly and then sleep.
The Story of Holiday at Home
Hi friends, now, I will tell my semester holidays at home. The last holiday, I chose to spend the time at home just because I wanted to have a lot of time hanging out with family at home.
The first day, I did some activities that I rarely do in school days. I started these activities with jogging in the morning, then played games on the computer, and played online games until 10:00 a.m. After that I took a bath, and continued playing the online games again until 12.00. Midday prayers time (Dzuhur) came so I must pray and then followed by lunch. After midday prayers and lunch, I and all members of the family gathered in the living room to watch TV together while chatting.
The next day, I was conducting a little bit different activity. After breakfast, my mom asked me to go with her to the Grand Mall in Bekasi. At the mall, I accompanied my little sister to play on timezone while waiting for our mother to finish shopping. I got home at 12, we continued our activities with midday prayers and had lunch together. After midday prayers and having lunch together, watching TV together while relaxing repeated again.

The next day, I tried to do my hobby which is writing short stories. That day I spent almost entire day to write short stories. I just took rest when prayer times and meal times with the family came. But at night, I spent quality time with my family to watch some DVDs together.
In the following days, we spent the time by doing the same activities. We were very happy even though we did not travel far away to spend a holiday. We enjoyed very much the family togetherness in the last holiday
Last weekend I spent all day laying on my bed. It was just like the Lazy Song by Bruno Mars, “today I don’t feel like doing anything” hehe. But sometimes doing nothing was just something that we needed the most, especially after a long and super exhausting week at the office. It was Sunday and I woke up at 9 a.m in the morning. I looked around me and I saw a new comic book that I just bought yesterday laying next to my Macbook. I try to drag it closer to me by using my foot, and then I pick it with my hand. I unwrapped the comic and start reading it. When I just reached the middle of the story, I felt thirsty so I got up of my super comfortable bed and walk out the room. I walked down the stairs right to the kitchen. I opened the fridge and I found a bottle full of chill orange juice. I opened the bottle and pour the orange juice into a glass. When I checked my fridge, I saw that I still have a leftover Pizza from yesterday, so I decided to reheat it in my microwave. So I sat in the kitchen for a while waiting for the Pizza to be ready. When the timer of the microwave is off, I pick the Pizza up and put it on my plate. I took my orange juice and my Pizza and brought them back to my lair. I enjoy the Pizza and the orange juice and continue reading my comic book. After that, I decided to watch my favorite K-drama on my MacBook, so I set my portable laptop desk on my bed. Travelling Abroad My first overseas trip was when I went to Thailand with my father. At that moment I was still in Junior High School level and it was a school day off. My father took this trip because he needed a data for his research about the legendary bird “Garuda”, which turned out to be a legend too in Thailand. We spent only 1 day in Thailand, but I already experience a lot of new things. When we first landed at the Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, we got a taxi and asked the driver to take us to the nearest hotel. He drove us to Windsor Suites Hotel located on Sukhumvit Road. We went straight to the receptionist and booked a room for tonight and tomorrow. The receptionist gave us a card that we can use as a key to unlock our room. We went to our room and took a quick shower, change our clothes and then went down to the lobby again. From the lobby, we went out to the street. My father orders a ride to a local driver. It looked like a becak motor but a lot bigger and the people called it “tuk-tuk”. My father asked the driver to take us to Chatuchak Market and find us a restaurant that served Halal food for Moslem.

Then we arrived at a small restaurant which turned out to be owned by Indonesian. The owner was very nice, he gave us a free meal when we were about to left his restaurant. He said that it was for our breakfast, just in case we couldn’t find any Halal food at the hotel. My father thanked him and ask to exchange their phone number. Before we went back to the hotel, my father took me around the Chatuchak Market. I saw so many toys that I have never seen before in Indonesia. My father bought me one of those toys, it was rubber chicken. It was so funny because when we squeeze it, it will make sound just like rooster. After that we went back to the hotel and go to bed. In the morning, we enjoy free breakfast at the hotel. We had a lot of Halal food to choose. I took a couple glass of free milk for myself. After that my father order an Uber and ask the driver to take us to three archaeological sites in Thailand which were Ayutthaya Historical Park, Ban Non Wat village, and the temple of Prasat Ta Muen Thom. When we arrived on each destination, my father started collecting the data. While my father was working, I walked around the historical site and took a lot of picture of myself. We finished the job at 5 p.m, and we still have
Bro Time After a year working in Australia, I finally managed to come back to my hometown last month. It is in Cimahi, a city located in the west side of Bandung. I spent a week staying here. During this time at home, I learned that my best friend, Richie, had become a successful medic in the government’s hospital in my hometown. So I called him and we decided to have a “Bro Time” at the weekend. Richie picked me up at 4 p.m, and he brought me straight to a new waterpark in town which he claimed to be the biggest waterpark in Cimahi. We parked our car in the parking area and walked straight to the entrance gate. There is a ticket counter at the gate and we have to pay Rp.80.000 to get into the waterpark. Richie paid for our ticket, he said it was a treat for me of his first salary as a medic in the hospital. I thanked him. We handed over the ticket to the gatekeeper and he allowed us to enter. After that went to a counter where we took the key for our locker. In this counter, we need to give them something as the assurance if we want to use the locker, so we gave them our car’s key. They said that we will get the car’s key back when we return the locker key. After that, we went to the locker room, where we changed our clothes and get ready to swim. Before we enter the pool, we decided to rent a dual swimming float, the price was Rp.20.000 and I decided to pay it. We brought it to the pool and sat on it. After that, we also swim and took some pictures together. After playing in the water for about an hour, we were so hungry and we decided to go to the food court. We order two plates of fried noodle and two cups of ice tea. I paid the food as a treat for Richie. After finishing our food and drinks, we went to the Read more
ishing At The River When I was in Junior High School, my father once took me to go fishing with him at the river on Sunday morning. The river lies across our oil palm plantation. We had breakfast first at home and then left early in the morning by motorcycle. When we arrived in our plantation, my father parked the motorcycle under the hut. He asked me to collect some dry

He said that the smoke from the fire would scare some dangerous animal like bear and boar to come closer to the hut and so it would make us safer. After cleaning some wild grass around the hut, my father gave me a hoe and asked me to dig some soil to find worms. When I already had enough worm, I brought it to my father and we went straight to the river. We put the worm on the fishing hook as a bait to catch the fish. As a beginner fisher, I cannot apply the worm on the fishing hook well, and it looks like it was about to fall off the hook, but my father said that it was okay. I threw the fishing hook into the river and wait for the fish to eat the bait, but nothing happened after a while. When I was about to get bored I saw a big prawn was slowly walking in the water. I placed the fishing hook slowly into the face of the prawn and move it up and down so the worm seemed alive. I never expected it to happen but suddenly the prawn move its hand and grabbed the worm on my fishing hook. I lift it very slowly and the prawn was still there hanging tight on the worm until I placed it on the ground and I caught it right away with my hands. My father was so surprise to see it. Before we went home, we cooked it at the hut and enjoyed it together. Read more :
My First Time In Yogyakarta My family and I went to my grandmother’s house in Yogyakarta last month. It was my first trip to this city. We went there two days after my sister’s graduation ceremony in Semarang. We arrived at Yogyakarta at night. We spent a week staying at my grandmother’s house which is 5 minutes away by foot to Malioboro street. In the first morning, we were still too tired after a long trip from Semarang to Yogyakarta. So we decided to stay at home to recharge our energy. I walk around the neighborhood with my sister just to experience how it is like to be in Yogyakarta. There were too many houses, I think, which made the space between a house and the other was so small, even the road was also small that only bicycle and motorcycle can go through. On the second day, all of us went to Malioboro street. We saw so many merchants with various of product which they claim to be a traditional product of Yogyakarta. I bought some wooden figurine and T-shirt with the word “Yogyakarta” printed on it, while my sister bought some leather handbag. My mom and dad were busy choosing some merchandise to be brought home when we go back. On the third day, we went to Taman Sari and Keraton Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat to see some historical building in Yogyakarta. We took a lot of pictures there. We also took some pictures of the building so we can check it again at home. We found someplace providing Yogya traditional food around the building and we jumped in right away. We spent the rest of our week in Yogyakarta by visiting some Shopping Malls such as Jogja City Mall, Malioboro Mall, Hartono Mall and Ambarrukmo Plaza. We realized that Yogyakarta turned out to be very warm during the day, that was the reason why we decided to spend more time in the air conditioned building like this Read more :

My friends and I went to Bandung last month. They were Jezi, Kayla, Gisel, Pevita, and Diandra. We rent a jeep car with a very high cost because we didn’t plan it long before the day. It could be called as unexpected plan. But, it’s okay. We still determined to go by that car.
Our first plan was to visit tourism places in Bandung, such as Kawah Putih and Patenggang. However, Kawah Putih was very crowded. So many people visited it. Then we decided to cancel to visit Kawah Putih. Then, we directly went to Situ Patenggang. When we almost arrived there, we could see a very beautiful lake. We were so excited to see it closer. Whtengen we arrived right at our destination, the situation was quite crowded and full of merchants. We immediately came to lake Situ Patenggang. Wow, it was very beautiful. Unfortunately, there were some trashes around the lake. Whether it was lack of management or the visitor who littered was the cause of that condition. I didn’t know. I only hoped that the management officer of this place and all of the visitors could maintain the cleanness of this beauty of nature which has been created by God.
Besides Situ Patenggang, we also visited Tamansari Zoo. It was a very nice and a pleasure to go there. We could see closely many animals. They were very cute. I also saw some wild animals like python snake, tiger, and lion. I took a picture with a baby of a tiger and lion. They seemed tame and calm. It looked like a big cat. There was only me who was brave to take picture with them. All of my friends who came with me were coward.
Since the road to many other tourism places was so crowded, finally we decided to have culinary tours. It started from Kaliki Sand, Kampung gajah, House of Sausage, The Valley, until the Paris Van Java Mall. All of the foods were delicious. The price was also reasonable. I thought that I wanted to go back there to have culinary tours with my family. The atmosphere of Bandung was so romantic. It was really suitable to go with our sweetheart.
The next agenda after having culinary tours was shopping souvenirs. We bought some special foods from Bandung such as brownies, banana roll, Karuhun chips, etc. We also bought some T-Shirts for our family and neighbour. Shopping souvenirs signed that the holiday was over.
Even though Bandung was always crowded in every holiday, we always made it an alternative place to have holiday together. It was not really far from Tangerang. There were also many delicious foods which I would always miss it. There were still many beautiful tourism places which could relieve our stress after hard working everyday. Moreover, it didn’t cost much money like going to Bali. It was a very nice holiday. It was short but meaningful. I was so happy. So were my friends. Well, that was my story about holiday in Bandung.
    Going To Sanur Beach
Last holiday our family went to Bali to have picnic. We went there by plane. We were in Bali for six day, so we had to stay in a hotel because we didn’t have any relatives there. We stayed in Bali beach hotel near Sanur beach.
When we came to the hotel, we didn’t come to our room directly but we have to check in first. We were received by the receptionists who were friendly and kind, and then we were helped by a room boy who took us to our rooms.
On the second day we visited Sanur beach. We just took a walk because the beach is in front of the hotel. We walked along the seashore, played water and sand. Actually we also wanted to swim in the beach but the lifeguard didn’t allow us.
Besides doing many activities we also watched some foreign tourist’s activities. They were lying on the beach, while others were having massage or surfing. When we felt tired, we took a rest to have some meals and drinks; and at 2.0 p.m. We went to the hotel. It was tiring but we were happy.

epal rescuers find 3 bodiesnear crashed US Marine
Nepalese rescuers on Friday found three bodies near the wreckage of a U.S. Marine helicopter that disappeared earlier this week while on a relief mission in the earthquake-hit Himalayan nation, officials said.
Nepal’s Defense Secretary Iswori Poudyal gave no details about the nationalities of the victims. The helicopter was carrying six Marines and two Nepalese army soldiers.
The wreckage was found near Gothali village in the district of Dolakha.
The U.S. Embassy in Nepal had no immediate comment Friday.
The discovery of the wreckage, first spotted by a Nepalese army helicopter Friday, followed days of intense search involving U.S. and Nepalese aircraft and even U.S. satellites.
The U.S. relief mission was deployed soon after a magnitude-7.8 quake hit April 25, killing more than 8,200 people. It was followed by another magnitude-7.3 quake on Tuesday that killed 117 people and injured 2,800.
The second quake was centered between Kathmandu and Mount Everest, and hit hardest in deeply rural parts of the Himalayan foothills, hammering many villages reached only by hiking trails and causing road-blocking landslides.

Police suspect drug overdose in boxer Tony Ayala Jr.’s
Heroin and a syringe were found next to the body of Tony Ayala Jr., San Antonio police disclosed Thursday in a report that says investigators suspect a drug overdose killed the troubled boxer.
According to a newly released police report, the items were found on a desk next to Ayala’s body, which was found face-down on the floor next to the desk and chair. Investigators said the syringe contained what appeared to be a narcotic and that a ball of heroin wrapped in tape was found on the desk with a cooker cap and a spoon.
There was no sign of trauma on the body, police said.
According to the report, a woman whom officers found weeping over Ayala’s body said the pair had been drinking alcohol and quarrelling in a house they shared the night before. About 1 a.m. Tuesday, he left the house angry, she said. About 7:30 a.m., sensing that something was wrong, she went to the gym owned by the Ayala family where he trained and found his body.
The woman’s name was concealed in the report.
Ayala, a 1979 Golden Gloves middleweight champion, was 19 when he was arrested and later convicted of raping a schoolteacher in New Jersey. He was undefeated in 22 bouts with 19 knockouts and set to fight Davey Moore for a junior middleweight title before the arrest.
After serving 16 years of a 35-year term for rape, Ayala repeatedly ran into legal trouble in Texas as he tried to revive his boxing career. He was shot in the left shoulder by a woman after allegedly breaking into her home and refusing to leave in 2000. He got probation and a short jail term in a plea agreement.
Four years later, Ayala went back to prison for 10 years when he violated parole in the Texas case. He was pulled over for speeding and charged with driving without a license, possession of heroin and possession of pornography.
Ayala was charged in 2003 with having sex with a 13-year-old girl, but the case was dismissed when the girl said she lied about the incident.
    God’s revelation behind Sultan’s decisions
After almost two weeks of uncertainty surrounding issues of succession within the Yogyakarta Palace, Sultan Hamengkubuwono X – now Hamengku Bawono X – finally appeared in public on Friday afternoon to clarify the matter.
Speaking at a meeting held at Ndalem Wironegaran, the residence of his eldest daughter Gusti Kanjeng Ratu (GKR) Mangkubumi – formerly GKR Pembayun, the sultan said that the recent decisions he made were based on a revelation from God he received through his ancestors, kings of the Mataram kingdom.
“I don’t mind getting scolded or questioned by my brothers. I will not do anything about it because I would have been afraid of getting scolded by God [if the decisions were not made],” the sultan said before 300 people sitting on the floor of the residence’s joglo hall, listening to his explanation

Yemeni men traditionally chew qat for several hours starting around midday, stuffing their cheeks with the leaves and letting its narcotic dissolve in their saliva. At daily qat-chewing sessions Yemenis recline on floor cushions, listen to traditional music, exchange gossip and engage in wide-ranging debates.
The widely cultivated plant consumes 30 percent of the extremely scarce water resources in Yemen, the Arab world’s poorest country, and cuts into the production of other crops. The World Health Organization classifies the drug as a narcotic.
Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula and allied tribesmen overran the city of Mukalla — capital of the vast Hadramawt province — last month, in part because of heavy fighting elsewhere between Shiite rebels known as Houthis and loyalists of Yemen’s internationally recognized president, backed by Saudi-led airstrikes.
The tribesmen, who refer to themselves as “Sons of Hadramawt,” on Thursday distributed pamphlets saying qat chewing is banned and that violators “will be held fully responsible under Shariah law,” without elaborating.
Pictures posted on social networking sites for local reporters showed tribesmen setting fire to piles of green leaves in the streets while others armed with assault rifles halted trucks carrying the plants and turned them away from the city.
“Qat is a problem either way,” said Salem Dayan, a merchant in Mukalla. “If you ban it, people will have nothing to do to kill time, and if you lift the ban, you bring back the financial burden on your family.” A person can spend anywhere from $5 to $50 on qat for a single session.
Retired teacher Ahmed Basalma welcomed the ban, saying qat “ruined lives and wrecked whole families,” but that addicts would likely find a way around it.
Awad bin Dagher, a government employee, said there are no recreational alternatives to the drug. “We have nothing but the seafront,” he said. “I can’t imagine my life without qat.”

London. Two leading members of the ruling Conservatives accused British Prime Minister David Cameron on Sunday (29/05) of breaking his promise to curb immigration, stepping up hostilities in the party over a battle to win next month’s referendum on remaining in the EU.
In an open letter to Cameron, his one-time allies Justice Minister Michael Gove and former London mayor Boris Johnson said “a failure” to curb migration was “corrosive of public trust in politics”.
Cameron is leading a campaign to persuade voters to keep Britain in the European Union in the June 23 referendum and the “Remain” side said the attempt to move the debate onto immigration showed that “Leave” campaigners had lost the argument on the economy.
In the letter circulated by the “Vote Leave” campaign, Gove, Johnson and Gisela Stuart, a member of the opposition Labor Party and fellow campaigner, said voters had been promised that annual net immigration could be cut to the tens of thousands.
“This promise is plainly not achievable as long as the UK is a member of the EU and the failure to keep it is corrosive of public trust in politics,” they wrote.
They pointed to official statistics issued last week showing net migration to Britain reached 333,000 in 2015, the second-highest level for a year since records began in 1975. Of those, a net 184,000 came from the EU, which upholds the principle of free movement.
Immigration is one of the key battlegrounds in what is becoming an increasingly bitter fight over EU membership, with many voters concerned about the strains a growing number of people put on schools, hospitals and housing.
Those campaigning to stay in the European Union said the “Leave” campaign was struggling after losing the argument on the economy and challenged campaigners to describe what Britain would look like if the country left.
“The reason why the Leave people have now really focused on immigration day after day after day is because they have lost comprehensively the debate on the economy,” former Labor prime minister and “Remain” campaigner Tony Blair told the BBC.
“What is now clear … is that if we did vote to leave the economic aftershock would be severe,” he said.

    ECONOMICS WON?
Earlier on Sunday, a poll suggested that nine out of 10 of Britain’s top economists believed the economy would be harmed if Britain left the EU.
Cameron hailed the results as proof that the overwhelming view was that a British exit would hurt the economy, but the “Leave” campaign, which denies it has lost the argument, cast doubt over whether such a “cozy consensus” should be trusted after many supported scrapping the pound 15 years ago.
With his party split over the EU, Cameron could face a revolt after the referendum.
One Conservative lawmaker, Nadine Dorries, told ITV television her “letter is already in” to call on the prime minister to stand aside after the vote.
Meanwhile, a minister in Cameron’s cabinet, Priti Patel, wrote an article accusing the “Remain” campaign of being led by people whose wealth protected them from the impact of immigration.
But former senior minister Iain Duncan Smith, who is campaigning for an exit, said “Leave” should focus on the debate.
“I am not going to be in favor of changing the prime minister at this particular point or at any stage,” he told ITV. “I have always said if he was to stand again I would support him.”

    A Trip to the Zoo
Yesterday my family went to the zoo to see the elephant and other animal.
When we got to the zoo, we went to the shop to buy some food to give to the animals.
After getting the food we went to the nocturnal house where we saw birds and reptiles which only come out at night.
Before lunch we went for a ride on the elephant. It was a thrill to ride it. Dad nearly fell off when he let go of the rope.
During lunch we fed some birds in the park. In the afternoon we saw the animals being fed.
When we returned home we were tired but happy because we had so much fun
“Man Charged with Pushing Old Woman Down Bus"
SINGAPORE – The man who pushed an old woman down a bus along Upper Thomson Road has been charged in court.
Twenty-five-year-old Ong Kok Hao is accused of hurting 76-year-old Hwang Li Lian Nee Lye on bus service number 167 at about 3pm on June 5 this year.
Ong is said to have used his right hand to push the old woman on her back, causing her to fall on the steps of the bus.
The incident was captured in a two-minute video and uploaded on YouTube.
The video shows Ong suddenly flying into a rage at Madam Hwang for pressing the bell at the last-minute along Upper Thomson Road.
A shouting match then ensued and during the heated spat, Ong threatened to slap the woman, before pushing her down the bus.
Ong’s lawyer Eddie Koh will be making representations to the court. The case will next be mentioned in December.
    “My Rainforest Adventure"
Today I woke up at 5:00am in the morning. I put on my loose fitting shirt, trousers, sturdy black boots with little holes in them, wide brimmed hat and a plastic bag with spare dry clothes in case it rained so I didn’t get a cold. When I got out of the four-wheel drive I could feel the refreshing cool air, it smelt like it had been raining for ages before I came to the rainforest. I decided to explore the forest floor.
The first animal I saw was a magnificent, giant eastern brown snake. I was so scared I felt like I wanted to run but that would be really dangerous!
The second animal I spotted was a beetle eating a rotten berry. I bent down to have a closer look but it stank like rotten eggs and onion mixed together.

Then I turned to the right and saw a bowerbird collecting lots of blue stuff like wrappers and blue flowers. It had beautiful, magnificent, midnight-blue eyes and it looked very graceful.
By now I had seen enough on the forest floor so I decided to go to the understorey. So I went to the bridge in the understorey 20m high off the forest floor.
The first animal I saw in the understorey was a massive, graceful, blue butterfly sucking pollen off a beautiful orchid. That was my favourite animal so far of all the animals I saw.
The second animal I spotted was a black bat hanging upside down on the branch near me. Before I arrived at the rainforest I thought we wouldn’t see a bat because I was going in the day and bats are nocturnal.
The third animal I spotted was a grey Boyd’s dragon it was eating lots of bugs and beetles. I looked down to the forest floor and saw a little stream, it had a cute, little platypus looking after her five tiny, mini babies. By now I had had enough of the understorey so I decided to go up the ladd

Pen and paper still dominate in the national exam in West Sumatra high schools, the provincial governor said.

West Sumatra Governor Irwan Prayitno said the computer-based national examination (UNBK) has yet to be evenly implemented in the region due to budgetary constraints.

Of the 497 schools in the province, only 160 – or 31 percent – were able to take the computer-based exams. The West Sumatra government aims to roll out the UNBK to all schools by 2018. “There are several high schools in West Sumatra that have implemented the computer-based national examination. For example, of the 16 public high schools in Padang, there were only six [that have implemented the UNBK]. [The numbers from] other districts are similar,” Irwan said on Monday (10/04).
Despite the setback with the full implementing of the UNBK, the number of high school students registering for computer-based tests has increased since last year.

The central government rolled out the UNBK program for high schools with adequate facilities in April, before expanding the program nationwide. Education Minister Muhadjir Effendi said in January that schools lacking computer facilities can conduct exams at nearby schools that do have access. “The examinations will not be simultaneous. It’s not possible to have 100 percent [electronic testing] as schools in remote areas are still using paper,” Muhadjir said. Ministry data shows that only 12,023 of Indonesia’s 97,647 schools were ready to use the UNBK in its initial stage. The UNBK was implemented in 2015 as KPK Wants to Cooperate With Universities, Introduce Anti-Corruption Curricula
Jakarta. The national antigraft agency seeks to introduce anticorruption curricula to educational institutions, its deputy chairwoman said in a seminar at Atma Jaya University in Yogyakarta on Monday (27/02).
Universities play a strategic role in eradicating corruption by educating students to fight against it and by preventing it at their own campuses — in student admission, budget management, faculty appointment and exams, Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) deputy chairwoman Basaria Panjaitan said during the seminar.
“We need to have anti-corruption curricula or extracurricular programs at the campuses,” she said.

Basria added that based on the KPK’s research in Yogyakarta, in 2015, only 4 percent of children had been taught by their parents about the importance of being earnest. These lacks in upbringing should be addressed by the educational institutions to reinforce the students’ integrity, she said.
Atma Jaya University lecturer from the Faculty of Law, Anny Retnowati, said that all stakeholders, including students, have a role to play by reporting all incidents of corruption.
“Such actions are protected by the law,” she said.
Another speaker, law lecturer Zaenur Rochman of Gadjah Mada University, said that corruption in Indonesia is an after-effect of feudalism, which requires people to pay tribute to the rulers in exchange for security.
“As integrity is closely related to character, universities should teach their students to be honest,” he said.
The seminar was held to strengthen the KPK’s efforts in preventing corruption through education
part of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s push to modeJakarta. The Indonesian government has ordered a publisher to withdraw a sex education book for children — which addresses the subject of masturbation — for being too vulgar.
The publisher of “I’m Not Afraid to Sleep Alone and Learn to Control Myself” apologized for causing any offense but said the book was written to help parents teach children how to protect themselves from sexual harassment.
The Education Ministry said the book, written by Fita Chakra, contained pornographic content and cited a depiction of a cartoon boy’s thoughts as he hugs a bolster pillow when he cannot sleep. It also includes a part where the boy finds a new “game” of putting his hand inside his trousers.
“The content of the book is not appropriate for children. It’s too vulgar,” the ministry said in a statement, adding the publisher must recall the book or face “strict sanction.”
Sex education in Indonesia, which has the world’s largest Muslim population, is uncommon and casual conversations about sex are often considered taboo.
Awaluddin Tjalla, head of the ministry’s center of curriculum and books, also said the ministry was speaking to an association of publishers to urge it to take action against the publisher of the sex education book. He did not elaborate what form the action could take.
The author was not immediately available for comment, but the publisher, Tiga Serangkai, said it had consulted psychologists as well as pediatricians when researching the book.
“Our intention was to help parents explain to children how they can protect themselves… from people with ill-intention,” it said in a statement.
The book also contained educational material on sexually transmitted diseases and “basic knowledge that is important for a child to know from early age,” it said.
On its Instagram account, Tiga Serangkai said: “We understand that some in our society are not ready for sex education at an early age,” adding that those who had bought the book could return it and get a refund.
The publisher said the book had been withdrawn since December, but that it had found copies still on sale at some online stores.

Some Indonesians turned to social media to complain. An Instagram user with handler @revitatiaman said: “I’ve seen a few pages of the book and I don’t think there’s any education in there. It will only damage a child’s moral.”
“It’s better to soothe a kid who is learning to sleep by himself at night with reading or praying,” another user @pipijippie said. “For Muslims, it can be done by reading the Koran, not by introducing the kid to sexual activity.”

Cigarette Companies Deliberately Target Schoolchildren: NGO
Jakarta. Cigarette companies in Indonesia are targeting schoolchildren by spending massively on advertising in and around school areas, non-profit child advocacy organization Lentera Anak Indonesia said on Thursday (23/02).
After monitoring 90 schools in Padang (West Sumatra), Mataram (West Nusa Tenggara), Tangerang Selatan (Banten), Bogor and Bekasi (West Java), the group said conspicuous cigarette advertising is nearly “everywhere” around the schools.
Lentera Anak chairwoman Lisda Sundari said the Education Ministry had issued a regulation in 2015 banning smoking cigarettes inside school grounds, but the regulation is powerless when it comes to protecting students from exposure to massive cigarette advertising.
Food stalls and small kiosks around schools are “best agents” for cigarette companies targeting these students, Lisda said. The owners are paid between $45 and $300 a year to install a 2 meter-square banner at their stalls and kiosks.
“The cigarette companies want to ‘normalize’ these massive advertising. They want schoolchildren to think there’s nothing wrong with smoking cigarettes and forget the health problems it could create,” Lisda said.
At least 61 cigarette brands put advertising next to schools during the group’s research between September 2016 and February 2017.
In another research conducted in 2015, Lentera Anak found out 85 percent of schools were surrounded by cigarette advertising.

In Bekasi, schools worked with the district’s public order agency to raid kiosk owners who still install cigarette ads.
“We’re trying to persuade the district administration to issue a regional regulation banning cigarette ads around school,” Uchi, a teacher in a state junior high school in Bekasi, said.
Only four regions in Indonesia have issued outright ban on cigarette ads around schools.
Padang Panjang and Payakumbuh districts in West Sumatra have ruled out cigarette ads around school as part of an anti-smoking regulation in school areas.
Jakarta and Bogor have issued outright bans on cigarette promotion near school areas.
Around 300 schoolchildren are scheduled to perform a play satirizing cigarette ads in front of Merdeka Palace in Central Jakarta on Saturday to call on President Joko Widodo to support their anti-cigarette advertising campaign

  37. What are the pros and cons of falling in love with your best friend?

Everyone must have best friends in their lives. A best friend is someone you believe you can trust your life with. A best friend is the first person you call when you have the most amazing things in your life, and when you are in the most horrific incidents. But, what if you fall in love with your best friends? If you have decided to choose your best friend as someone you will share your life with, there is a lot to consider. Take a moment to consider the advantages and disadvantages of taking your friendship to the next level.

Having a serious relationship with someone you’ve only been best friends until now may not be an easy task, but the following advantages may just make taking the risk worth it. Firstly, you have already laid the groundwork. A strong emotional bond is a strong foundation of any successful relationship. Next, you can bypass the awkward stuff. The good news about dating your best friend is that you can simply enjoy the excitement of taking your relationship to the next level. Besides, you have already had a solid emotional bond and have shared history of togetherness such as graduating from the same university together or gathering family by your side. Having shared important moments in each other’s lives will make your connection stronger and even more likely to last.

    ReplyDelete
  38. On the other side, dating your best friend has also some disadvantages. Before taking a romantic relationship with your best friend, take a moment to consider the following drawbacks. First, are you willing to make the sacrifice? What if it doesn’t last? If you break up, you might loss your friendship forever. Second, there is always a possibility for not having a mutual feeling between both of you. Decide in advance what your plans might be if your friend does not reciprocate: can you continue your friendship with him/her? Could you take it if he/she dates someone else? Third, although you’ll bypass the awkward getting-to-know-you stage, missing out on discovering a new person, their personality and their interests could prove to be a little boring for you.

While there are risks involved with confessing romantic feelings to your best friend, it is worth remembering that the greatest and most successful relationships often grow from great friendships, and it might just be the best decision you’ll ever make.

Suddenly, they saw a large bear getting closer toward them. One of them climbed a nearby tree at once. But unfortunately the other one did not know how to climb up the tree. So being led by his common sense, he lay down on the ground breathless and pretended to be a dead man.

The bear came near the one who was lying on the ground. It smelt in his ears, and slowly left the place because the bears do not want to touch the dead creatures. 51. Contoh Narrative Text Pinokio

  54. Origin of the Snail House
In ancient times, the snails did not bring their home anywhere. In the beginning, snails lived in an abandoned bird’s nest in the trees. The night was warm and the day was cool because the leaves shaded the nest where the snails lived. But when the rains came, the leaves could no longer block the rain that fell. Snails caught cold and wet when the rainy season arrived.

Then the snails moved into the holes in the trunks of trees. When the day was hot, the snails were well protected, even if it rained. It looked like that I had found a suitable home for me, the snail said in his heart.
But on a sunny day, there came a woodpecker. Tok..tok … tok … woodpecker kept pecking the trunks where the snails lived. Snails became very distracted and could not sleep. With annoyed heart, snails went out of the hole in the trunk and looked for a place to stay next. Snails found a hole in the ground, which seemed to be warm when the night came, thought snails. Snails cleaned up those holes and decided to stay in it. But it turned out when the night came. The rats came from all directions to damage the hole. Again and again, the snails had to leave the hole to find a new home

Do you know what the meaning of corruption is? What is the relation between money and corruption? Well, corruption is common everywhere in the world, even in the United States. It’s just a matter of intensity. However, it is quite shocking when one reliable survey claims Jakarta as the most corrupt place in Indonesia.

    Argument 1
The survey has made me sad, actually, because I stay and earn a living here in the capital. As most people know, Tanjung Priok port smuggling is not a new thing at all. Entrepreneurs who want to minimize their tax payments tend to do such a thing more often. They even bribe the officials.

Mereka bahkan menyogok pihak berwenang.)

    Recommendation
I believe we should start at the earliest stages in school and I think everyone should be involved in the effort to eradicate corruption. We must not make any distinction.
